A message to everyone.
Dear everyone,
As many of you may already know, the results of the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) have been released. This year, Cambodia did not achieve the results we had hoped for. Our team finished 110th, with just 1 point overall.
Despite this outcome, Our team want to say with confidence that we gave it everything we had—drawing on the dedication of our mentors, the intense training we underwent, and the countless hours we spent exploring mathematics on our own.
To our families and friends, the people who shaped us into who we are today, thank you. Your support, encouragement, and love have meant everything to us. We owe you more than words can say.
To my fellow teammates, thank you for representing Cambodia with all your heart. I know none of us wanted this result—who wouldn’t wish for a perfect score of 42? But life doesn’t always align with our hopes. Even so, I saw firsthand the effort, the sacrifice, and the passion each of you brought. Maybe luck wasn’t on our side this time, but remember: it’s not just about the destination—it’s about the journey, as Ralph Waldo Emerson once said. And what a journey this has been—full of joy, pressure, learning, and unforgettable experiences. Let this not be the end, but a turning point. Keep going.
To our teachers, coaches, and mentors—we are truly sorry we couldn’t bring back a better result to reflect your effort. You gave us everything: guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support. From our first teachers in kindergarten to the mentors who stood by us this year—thank you. You have lit a path for us, not just in mathematics but in life.
A special thanks to our Team Leader, Deputy Leader, and Observers who took care of every detail during our journey so we could focus solely on the competition—we appreciate you deeply.
To the people of Cambodia, we understand the weight of representing our country on the international stage. We never wanted to see Cambodia at the bottom of the list. But while the world may see the ranking, they don’t see the spirit behind it. We’re not there yet—but one day, we will be. This is not the end of the road. One day, when we’ve grown older and wiser, we’ll guide the next generation, and perhaps then, we will change history together.
With sincere respect and hope,
On behalf of the Cambodia IMO 2025 Team
