Here is the English translation of the air conditioning installation guide:
Air Conditioning - The Right Way
This guide highlights technical HVAC installation standards to ensure optimal cooling performance, energy efficiency, and long-term equipment reliability.
1. Correct Refrigerant Piping Size & Length
* Undersized Pipes: Cause high pressure and poor cooling.
* Oversized Pipes: Prevent proper oil return to the compressor.
* Excess Length: Increases pressure drop and reduces system efficiency.
* Action: Always follow manufacturer specifications—balance is key.
2. Proper Vacuuming Before Charging
* Importance: Removes moisture and non-condensable gases from the copper tubing. Target a deep vacuum of 500 microns or lower.
* Consequence: Skipping this step leads to premature compressor failure.
3. Correct Drain Line Slope & Trap
* Action: Provide a downward slope of 1° to 2° and install a trap near the indoor unit.
* Consequence: Incorrect slope or a missing trap causes water leakage, damp walls, bad odors, and damages technician reputation.
4. Outdoor Unit Placement & Clearances
* Minimum Clearances: Top: 600 mm, Sides/Rear: 300 mm, Front (air discharge): 2000 mm.
* Principle: Good airflow equals good performance. Blocked airflow leads to high head pressure, frequent tripping, and system breakdowns.
5. Electrical Connections The Right Way
* Action: Use correct wire sizing, ensure tight terminal connections, install the proper breaker (MCB) rating, and always connect the earth/ground wire.
* Consequence: Loose connections create excess heat, breaker tripping, and severe fire hazards.
6. Insulation – Don't Leave It Half Done
* Action: Insulate copper pipes completely without leaving gaps, and thoroughly seal all joints.
* Consequence: Poor insulation leads to pipe sweating, water dripping, wall damage, and energy loss.
7. Leak Test After Charging
* Action: Apply a soap solution or use an electronic leak detector on flared joints and connection points.
* Motto: "No bubbles, no troubles." Even tiny undetected leaks lead to major operational issues later.
8. Airflow & Static Pressure Check
* Action: Measure airflow using an anemometer to deliver balanced, comfortable air distribution.
* Consequence: Improper airflow causes uneven cooling, excessive noise, and evaporator coil freezing.
9. Commissioning – The Final Step (Don't Skip!)
* Checklist:
* Check operating refrigerant pressures.
* Verify superheat and subcooling values.
* Check electrical amp draw.
* Test all operational modes.
* Explain basic controls and operation to the user.
