In Japan, education is not only about test scores.
From a young age, many children are taught responsibility, discipline, respect, and how to live as part of a community.
At school, they often learn not just from books, but also through everyday habits like cleaning, helping others, and doing things for themselves.
That is why Japanese education is often admired — it aims to build not only smart children, but strong and thoughtful human beings. 🇯🇵✨

In Finland, primary school students attend classes for just 4–5 hours a day, usually from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Despite this short schedule, the country consistently ranks among the world’s best in education, as shown by top scores in the OECD’s PISA assessments.

Formal schooling starts at age 7, with minimal homework, regular 15-minute breaks, and teachers who all hold master’s degrees. The Finnish model prioritizes equality, trust, creativity, and emotional well-being over rigid testing.

Instead of standardized exams, the focus is on deep understanding and critical thinking—proving that quality education isn’t about more hours, but smarter learning.

🇰🇭 Fun & Games: Learning English! 📚

Such an absolutely fantastic time teaching English to the local children today! Instead of traditional lessons, we brought out the interactive games to make learning fun and engaging.

💡 Today's Game: We played a fun variation of "Guess the Action!" One student acted out and their classmate had to guess the correct English phrases. The energy was incredible!

The best part? Every correct guess earned a small prize! This kind of interactive activity helps the children stay focused, builds confidence in speaking, and proves that learning can be a joyous experience. Seeing their smiles while they practiced their English was the biggest reward!

We are so proud of how quickly these bright students are learning. Keep up the amazing work!

Japan’s early education system prioritizes social development for the first three years of schooling, placing emphasis on kindness, respect, and character-building rather than academic testing.

During this period, students spend time learning behavioral foundations, group harmony, personal responsibility, and emotional regulation. Academic assessments are intentionally postponed to reduce performance pressure in early childhood.

This approach reflects the belief that emotional maturity and social cohesion form the groundwork for later academic success. Educators reinforce routines such as cleaning classrooms, sharing duties, and working cooperatively as part of daily learning.

Studies on this system suggest that delaying exams may support student confidence and reduce anxiety associated with early competitive environments, especially during formative neurological development.

Researchers continue to examine how early social learning influences long-term outcomes, offering an alternative model to test-focused educational systems around the world.

**Happy Valentine’s Day from our amazing little artists and writers! 🎨📝**

Today, they combined creativity and learning by crafting beautiful drawings and heartfelt letters for their loved ones. Every stroke and word was filled with so much love!

Our wonderful intern teachers also joined the celebration, playing games with the students and even receiving special letters from them.
