Reporting verbs are varied, indeed.

First conditional form: If+present simple tense, subject+will+verb (infinitive)
Use: to talk about the outcome of a particular situation that may happen in the present or future.
Example: If Tom wins the football match tomorrow, he will get $2000 from the ministry as his personal reward.

Grammar tip: The use of "wish"
Form 1: Subject+wish+past simple tense
Use: To talk about an unreal hope for a change in a present situation.
Example: I wish I were in Paris now. (But I am not)

Form 2: Subject+wish+past perfect tense
Use: To talk about an unreal hope for a change in a situation which ALREADY happened in the past.
Example: I wish I had reviewed my lesson yesterday, so I would be able to answer all the questions now. (But I didn't)

Form 3: subject+wish+(adjective)+noun (NO VERB)
Use: To express a sincere hope of an upcoming event to someone.
Example: I wish you a safe and sound trip to England.
