Why does a school need a Makerspace?

Makerspace is a place where ideas become reality.

This week, our Primary 5 students were already putting our new Makerspace to work. Using Arduino kits, they explored how to make an LED light turn on: following instructions, connecting components, testing their circuits, and figuring out what happens when something doesn’t work as expected.

This is the kind of hands-on, inquiry-based learning we want to create more opportunities for as our students progress through school.

Over the summer, we’ve been busy preparing new and renovated spaces across our campus: from a dedicated Makerspace and Science Lab to a new ICT room, Early Years classroom, Library and outdoor areas.

These aren’t just new rooms. They’re spaces designed to give our students more opportunities to create, experiment, move, and explore.

And now, they’re ready for a new year of learning.

Today, we were delighted to welcome our families for Orientation Day.

It was a wonderful opportunity for parents and students to:
- Meet their homeroom teachers
- Explore our classrooms and new learning spaces
- Learn about exciting developments, including our new Middle Years Programme (MYP)
- Meet members of our leadership team and learn more about the year ahead

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. It was fantastic to see so many familiar and new faces, and we hope you enjoyed getting to know our school community.
