Party on the Last Day
Three of our foreign staff in APS come from the country of Wales, which is one of the 4 countries in the United Kingdom (UK). Because students were curious to know more about this faraway country, we have put this short video (only 5 minutes) on our page for our students and their parents to see for themselves. Please enjoy the video and learn a little more about a distant country in the Atlantic Ocean, on the edge of Western Europe,

At this year's annual concert, every student had the opportunity to perform in front of their families and friends on the great stage of the National Institute of Education. This event gives students experience of performing in public before a large audience. We hope that this experience will help develop their self-confidence and also self-discipline. Performing as part of the class team, or with the whole school singing together, each student has to know the words and the actions and to remember where to move during the show. We hope that you enjoy looking at these photographs as much as the students enjoyed singing and dancing. It was a lot of hard work to practice for the concert, but we believe it was well worthwhile. We hope that you agree!

These photos were taken on 6th April, during the day on which we held traditional games at school as part of our Khmer New Year celebrations, which takes place the following week, when the school will be closed for the holiday.

This is a selection of the photos taken by a local photographer. The students enjoy performing. The practice is good for their discipline. They improve their pronunciation - and also build up their self-confidence by performing in public. The small stage is for our youngest classes, so they don't feel too worried. The big stage, at the Cambodian-Japanese Cultural Centre, allows our older students to experience what it is like to stand up and sing and dance before a very large audience of about 800 people.
