🎤 Hello Edventurer! Today we’re debunking 4 common pieces of bad IELTS Speaking advice that might be hurting your IELTS score. Don’t fall for these! ⛔️⚠️

⛔️ Use big words to impress the examiner: Using complicated or rare words doesn’t guarantee a high score. If the words don’t fit naturally or are used incorrectly, your fluency and coherence can suffer. Focus on clear, accurate vocabulary instead.

⛔️ Memorize full answers for common topics: Examiners can easily spot memorized responses — they sound unnatural and lack spontaneity. It’s better to prepare ideas and practice flexible responses you can adapt to different questions.

⛔️ Always speak with a British or American accent: IELTS is an international test, and your accent doesn’t affect your score. What matters is that your pronunciation is clear and your meaning is easy to understand.

⛔️ Speak as fast as possible to sound fluent: Speaking too fast often leads to errors, poor pronunciation, and a lack of clarity. Fluency is about smooth, natural speech — not speed.
