Congratulations to the 30 scholars for finishing the Continuing Professional Development Training under the DGFT Program (DGFTP-CPDT) conducted by Cebu Normal University

Closing Ceremony of the Continuing Professional Development Training under the Developing Global Filipino Teachers Program

Phnom Penh - Thirty (30) Filipino teachers in Cambodia completed the Continuing Professional Development Training (CPDT) under the Developing Global Filipino Teachers (DGFT) Program of the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in collaboration with the Cebu Normal University.

In line with DGFT Program, CHED and the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh signed in October 2020 a Memorandum of Cooperation that seeks to equip, capacitate and enhance the competencies of Filipino teachers in Cambodia to qualify them for better teaching careers.

At the closing ceremony on 22 April 2022, Cebu Normal University (CNU) President Dr. Joselito B. Gutierrez encouraged more cooperation in enhancing and sustaining the skills of Filipino teachers as global educators.

Representing the Embassy, Minister and Consul General Emma R. Sarne expressed appreciation to the CHEd and program partner CNU, a Center of Excellence in Teacher Education, for piloting the international DGFT program in Cambodia. She congratulated the 30 Filipino teachers in Cambodia for completing the course amidst the challenges of the pandemic and online learning.

In her closing remarks, Atty. Lily Freida Milla, Director of CHED’s International Affairs Division, mentioned that after the successful pilot of the international DGFT program in Cambodia, CHED will continue to offer the program to other overseas Filipino teachers in cooperation with Foreign Service Posts.

The event was also attended by ASPAC Deputy Assistant Secretary Myca Magnolia M. Fischer, Mesdames Marilou Garcia and Lilbeth Sta. Ana and other CPDT participants, and CHED and CNU project coordinating teams. END
