Countryside Class

Countryside Class A community organization inside Battambang Province, Cambodia, dedicated to developing Cambodia's future through educating and inspiring today's children.

The Countryside Class is a neighborhood class located in Wat Kor Village of Battambang, Cambodia. The class was founded by Meas Sambath on year 2009. It started with a class of around 10 students, expanded through the years, now already a class with more than 40 students from different age group. On one fine day of 2009, one of his friend (a car mechanic) requested him to teach English so his frie

nd could read from the manual. He agreed to teach him English, and end up his friend's relatives turn up along to learn English from him. With the idea of "education the only way to change the future", he decided to start the class to provide English lessons for the kids in his village. Together with the help from friends from Malaysia, the class is now expanded into a small community library and community centre for the village with a small Story Telling Corner for the students or visitors to share some stories with other kids and villagers.
