13-14 октября 2025 года в Алматы (Республика Казахстан) состоялся Второй региональный диалог парламентариев Центральной Азии по вопросам циркулярной экономики, организованный программой EU SWITCH-Asia (Policy Support Component) совместно с Региональным экологическим центром Центральной Азии (CAREC). В мероприятии приняли участие парламентарии, представители министерств, международных организаций, эксперты и бизнес-сообщество из пяти стран региона - Кыргызстана, Казахстана, Таджикистана, Туркменистана и Узбекистана.

Важно отметить, что 2 октября в Бишкеке, в преддверии второго регионального диалога, в Министерстве экономики и коммерции Кыргызской Республики состоялась национальная встреча, посвящённая определению приоритетных направлений развития циркулярной экономики в стране. Эта встреча стала одним из практических результатов Первого регионального диалога, прошедшего в Бишкеке в мае 2025 года

On 13-14 October2025, the Second Regional Dialogue of Central Asian Parliamentarians on
Circular Economy took place in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was organized by the EU SWITCH-Asia Programme (Policy SupportComponent) in cooperation with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central
Asia (CAREC). The dialogue brought together parliamentarians, representativesof ministries, international organizations, experts, and business
representatives from five countries of the region - Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan,Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The circular economy goes beyond reducing waste, it redefines how value is created, shared, and sustained across societies. 🌏 The EU Global Gateway Multi-Stakeholder Consultation in Central Asia has just concluded, with key reflections from Central Asian Members of Parliament on advancing the circular economy:

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan: Increased knowledge-sharing between experts can support the development of practical legislation. Central Asia is at a critical moment when policy-makers have increased interest in the circular economy and welcome exchanges with Europe about standards and regulations.

🇰🇬 Kyrgyzstan: Public procurement can promote circularity by assigning product lifecycle responsibilities to suppliers, while legal clarity and enhanced education in tourism can help bridge knowledge and skills gaps.

🇹🇯 Tajikistan: Adapting circular economy solutions to local contexts, fostering public-private collaboration, and encouraging both traditional and cross-sector innovation are key to a successful transition.

🇹🇲 Turkmenistan: Government support for entrepreneurship, technological upgrades, and smart city initiatives can drive circular economy adoption, with an emphasis on scaling existing local innovations rather than introducing new legislation.

🇺🇿 Uzbekistan: Advancing the circular economy requires national legislation, respect for traditional practices, phased implementation of standards, and better alignment between local and international requirements.
