La scuola primaria di Dongokundu ha bisogno di aiuto. Lo scopo di questo progetto umanitario è attivare, per la scuola e per la comunità, un’ampia sponsorizzazione, affinché si riesca a procurare a questi bambini il necessario per lo studio e la loro sicurezza. Questo è essenziale perché si sviluppino. E’ inoltre necessario fornire un’adeguata assistenza medica, aiutare i bambini ad ottenere almeno un’educazione di base, nonché cercare di migliorare lo stile di vita di queste comunità.

Dongokundu Primary School is located about 200mts. away from the Watamu – Temple Point main Road.
The School is in Malindi Sub-County near Watamu. The School land is approximately 1.5acres which was jointly donated by the members of Dongokundu Community.
The idea of beginning the school was due to the need to reduce the long distance that children had to walk everyday to access education.
Dongokundu Primary School started as an ECDE centre in 1980 on the premises of Dongokundu Baptist Church. It is evident from the School’s statistical data over the last 5 years there has been a steady growth in terms of the school enrolment. This is a proof of the importance of the institution in the community. The current enrolment is 579 pupils. (Girls;264, Boys ; 315).
The teaching staff comprises of 13 teachers; Female-10, Male 3. Two teachers out of the 13 are employed by parents.
The school performance in National examinations has greatly improved since 2015.
The school is going through a number of challenges that affect the performance which includes;-
• Pockets of poverty in most families.
• Lack of adequate course books and library materials.
• Limited land (space) for play.
• Inadequate sanitation facilities.
• Computer room for the children in early grades 1, 2 and 3.
• Inadequate desks for children; among others. Beside the challenges cited above, the school is proud of the reasonable number of students who excel in the National exams and join high school.
