World Vision Kenya RAPID+ Project Site Visit at LTI Wajir
The team from World Vision Kenya conducted a site visit to Livestock Training Institute Wajir to assess the institute’s preparedness as we begin our partnership under the RAPID+ Project on Integrated Hydroponic Fodder Systems.
The visit focused on evaluating available facilities, discussing implementation plans, and strengthening collaboration to ensure the successful establishment of the hydroponic fodder system at the institute farm. This initiative aims to promote climate-smart livestock feeding technologies that will enhance fodder availability, improve livestock productivity, and support resilient pastoral livelihoods in Wajir County.
The partnership marks an important step towards innovation, knowledge sharing, and capacity building for sustainable livestock production in the arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs).

Day 4 of the Animal Health and Production Trip was spent at the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre
Our students got to appreciate the different breeds of bulls and their unique characteristics.
They were also equiped with hands-on training on semen collection, analysis, and handling.

With many of our students having plans to specialise as bovine and caprine artificial inseminators post graduation, their stay at KAGRC was both insightful and an eye opener- an invaluable boost to their journey towards improving local genetics for better productivity and adaptability.

Many thanks to the KAGRC team that hosted us and dispensed their expertise on animal genetics and breeding to us generously.

We look forward to more collaborations.
