On Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting over 20 schools for the Braeside Thika Junior Chess Tournament. It was wonderful to observe the enthusiasm and competitive spirit displayed by all the student participants. We extend our sincere appreciation to the visiting schools and parents for their support and attendance. We look forward to hosting many more tournaments alongside Black Knights.

Have a look at how our Literacy Day - Early Years Edition went down! It was a spectacular day designed to ignite curiosity, spark imagination, and show our youngest learners just how fun literacy is. They explored hands-on experiences that brought every corner of literacy to life, including mystery readers, magic writing, dressing up as storybook heroes, and making music and rhythm.

Happy New Week! At Braeside Thika, we not only pride ourselves on academic excellence, but we also encourage our students to apply the knowledge they learn in school to solve problems, be it environmental, economic or infrastructural. This year’s STEAM Science Fair was a true testament to that knowledge being turned into practical projects. Kudos to our secondary students! Keep thriving and exploring.

Last week on Friday our students joined other learners at our sister school, Braeburn Garden Estate, to explore the art of stained glass. They had the opportunity to work alongside Zahiba The Grounded Artist Mentoring , a stained glass and watercolor artist. Each student made hanging pieces composed of beads, stained-glass pieces and small metal charms either a frog or a dolphin. It was a wonderful afternoon, and inspiring to see what our learners created.

A random Tuesday at Braeside Thika and we got to see what a typical day looks like in Primary! The Early Years enjoyed their outdoor learning session, discussing different shapes around them, while Year 4 took to the field for a football match and Year 6 tackled equivalent fractions in math.
On this and every other day, you’ll get a glimpse of our learners enjoying success as they grow into confident individuals and responsible citizens.

On Saturday, we had an insightful session on Embracing Every Child’s Journey and how to best support each child’s unique way of learning. The session was beautifully delivered by Dr. John Onala. We truly appreciate our parents for their commitment to showing up and learning alongside one another.

Yesterday, we had our Year 12 induction afternoon, where we shared clear goals and expectations among teachers, learners, and parents. We understand that A-Level education is not a walk in the park and our learners are prepared to hit the ground running. As an international school that follows the modular system in A-Levels, every touchpoint in their academic journey matters. Parents, teachers and students agreed to partner together to achieve academic excellence. We have full confidence in our Year 12 class and know they will soar high.
