It exists to teach, train, and prepare God’s people for a missional living. God is a God of mission (Missio Dei). And he invites every Christian in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to participate in that mission here on earth. CMS has three core pillars in its teaching and training philosophy:
1. This concentrates on developing knowledge, skill, and attitudes by which we can read, study, a
nd engage the Bible faithfully and responsibly.
2. Missional Theology. This concentrates on developing knowledge, skill, and attitudes by which to engage the whole Bible and thereby developing robust theological worldview and perspectives that engender sound and robust missional living.
3. Missional Spirituality. This concentrates on developing knowledge, skill, and attitudes that govern missional leadership as catalytic agents of change in a very lost and confused world. At CMS we believe that when the word of God is properly reflected, good and sound doctrine is its natural outflow. And whenever there is sound theological thinking, a robust Christian and missional life, at the individual and community level, is a natural outflow. A proper missional hermeneutic and theology results and nurtures dynamic missional people who are ready tools in God’s hands for his world. CMS is non-denominational and non-sectarian. It welcomes all who are hearing God’s call upon their lives to dig deeper into God's Story in order to be prepared in mind and heart for the 21st-century world. CMS is therefore ideal for those intending to be involved in leading catalytic ministries, pioneering new missional communities and networks, frontline and lay-church leadership, and church planters who have a new zeal to see the church of Christ in the earth fulfilling its missional mandate in this generation and the ones to come.
