Felix Omondi Yoga, a graduate of the Carpentry & Joinery department at RTRC, is building his future one step at a time.
Before joining the program, Felix worked as a casual farm laborer. His journey changed when he enrolled at Rarieda Training & Resource Centre, where he progressed through his training with determination, later earning a scholarship that supported him to advance his skills.
Through the program, Felix gained hands-on experience in carpentry and roofing, expanding his skillset and confidence. After completing his training and attachment in Kisumu, he returned home ready to take on the world of work.
“I started small, making just one table, but I kept going.”
With persistence, he moved from working in other people’s workshops to starting his own business. Today, Felix runs his own carpentry workshop, works directly with clients, and earns a steady income.
“I work on my own, talk to clients one-on-one, and I can now put income in my pocket.”
His journey has also created opportunities for others. He now works with a team both in his workshop and out in the field, growing his business and impact.
Felix’s story is a testament to what skills, opportunity, and determination can achieve.
“If it were not for Rafiki, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
