This video is amazing. The Craftmanship here is commendable. Yet, it also shows a very huge societal problem. Most parents will complain if their children got admitted to polytechnics and vocational colleges. Such admissions are considered failures.

Parents believe that success lies in being doctors, engineers, and accountants. True but not always.

How many parents will be happy if their gifted children chose polytechnics, vocational College/Centres over Universities to study courses that the youths may never be interested in?

So as we celebrate this, let's not blame bad leadership or politics. Rather, let parents be honest with themselves and allow their children to explore their talents and skills in technical colleges.

The good thing about technical colleges is that the courses offered are hands-on, it allows students to be able to translate theory into a practical way of offering solutions to the problems in Society.

The Digital Literacy Program (DLP) innovation competition is open for innovators developing solutions for opportunities available in the DLP.
Fablab Winam has been selected by the Kenyan ICT Authority (ICTA), as one of the hubs to identify and select innovators in Kenya who have/can create solutions that will help improve the Digital Literacy Program and enable the Government better interact with schools, teachers, learners and other stakeholders in the DLP program.

In light of this, we have launched a call to identify innovators whose products/services/ideas can further enhance the digital literacy program
