Check out some photos of RIDE students and staff enjoying their day off with a hike up the magnificent Mt Kasigau ⛰️. The hike starts with breakfast watching the sunrise and lasts around 4 hours. On a clear day, you can even catch a view of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania 🇹🇿

Who are we?

Mission: Listen and learn from local communities, for local communities.

RIDE International (www.RIDEinternational.org) is a nonprofit organization that runs cultural-exchange programs throughout East Africa focused on community development. We are advancing the study abroad industry to enable students, researchers, and local communities to collaborate together on long-term projects that solve critical issues. Communities identify challenges, and RIDE supplies the research, financial support, and strategies to find a durable solution. Likewise, we extend our educational programs for regular tourists seeking In every location that we work, our end goal is to build a self-sustaining model for communities to progress and thrive.

At RIDE, we aim for our students and other guests to engage in experiential learning, to listen to the community’s issues, and to collaborate with communities by advancing community-designed projects. Theories learned abstractly in the classroom are therefore challenged by both context and capacity. Our organizational model connects our mission for field studies and research with steadfast belief that the solutions exist within the local communities in which we collaborate. Both our community projects and travel programs are meant to be an immensely positive and beneficial experience for both our students and community partners alike.
