We were delighted to attend the Mbegu Yetu Festival 2026at the G-BiACK Centre in Thika, joining farmers, seed keepers, students, organizations, innovators, and community members in celebrating the richness of our seeds, food, culture, and agroecological practices.

As an organization committed to promoting Agroecology, sustainable farming, and Integrated Pest Management, the festival provided a valuable opportunity for us to share knowledge, exchange ideas, learn from farmers, and strengthen connections with like-minded individuals and organizations working towards resilient and sovereign food systems.

🌾 From indigenous seeds to traditional foods, cultural expressions, and innovative agroecological solutions, the festival reminded us that our seeds are more than what we plant—they carry our heritage, knowledge, resilience, and future.

We are grateful to the organizers, partners, farmers, exhibitors, and everyone who made this meaningful gathering possible.

Together, let’s continue nurturing our seeds, protecting our biodiversity, celebrating our food cultures, and building sustainable food systems for generations to come.🌱🌍

🌍 One Health for One Planet | AUCCW 2026

On 12th and 13th August 2026, we were delighted to exhibit at the African Universities and Communities Climate Week (AUCCW) 2026, held at Kenyatta University under the theme “One Health for One Planet: Leveraging Local and Indigenous Innovations to Unite Urban and Rural Communities for Sustainable Development and Climate Action.”

Our participation provided an opportunity to showcase our work, innovations and community-led approaches while engaging with universities, communities, development partners, policymakers, youth and other stakeholders working towards a healthier, more resilient and sustainable Africa.

The conference emphasized the importance of connecting urban and rural communities, science and lived experiences, and Indigenous knowledge with climate action.

🌱 Together, we can turn local knowledge and innovation into practical solutions for One Health, Planetary Health and climate resilience.

Effective IPM Association (EIPMA)was honoured to participate in the 3rd National Agroecology Symposium 2026, a two-day national forum that brought together government representatives, farmers, researchers, youth, development partners, the private sector, and civil society to advance the agroecology agenda in Kenya.

Throughout the symposium, participants engaged in insightful discussions on strengthening sustainable food systems through agroecological practices, promoting the use of organic fertilisers and bio-inputs, investing in innovation and value addition, empowering youth as key drivers of agricultural transformation, and fostering stronger partnerships across sectors.

The symposium reinforced the importance of supporting smallholder farmers with practical knowledge, innovation, and collaborative action to build resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems in the face of climate change.

At Effective IPM Association, we remain committed to promoting agroecology and working with partners and farming communities to advance sustainable agriculture and improve livelihoods across Kenya.

We extend our appreciation to the organisers, partners, speakers, and all participants for creating a valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and action toward a more sustainable future.

A successful two-day farmer exchange and exposure visit, planned by PELUM Kenya and organised by Effective IPM Association (EIPMA), brought together farmers from different parts of Kiambu County for a practical learning experience in agroecology and sustainable agriculture.

On 14th July, participants visited G-BiACK, where they learned about agroecological farming practices, indigenous seed conservation, bio-input production, and community-led innovations that strengthen resilient food systems.

The learning journey then continued to Laikipia Permaculture Centre, where farmers gained hands-on knowledge on permaculture principles, regenerative agriculture, soil health management, water conservation, climate-smart farming, and sustainable food production.

The exposure visit provided a valuable opportunity for farmer-to-farmer learning, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of practical approaches that participants can apply within their own communities.

A heartfelt thank you to PELUM Kenya for planning this initiative and to G-BiACK and Laikipia Permaculture Centre for hosting and sharing their expertise, as well as to all the farmers whose enthusiasm made the exchange a success.

Effective IPM Association is proud to be part of an exposure visit to the Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) programme in India—one of the world’s largest and most transformative agroecology initiatives.

This learning journey offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical insights into natural farming systems that restore soil health, enhance biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience, and improve farmers’ livelihoods. Through knowledge exchange and collaboration, Effective IPM Association will explore how lessons from Andhra Pradesh can be adapted to support sustainable, farmer-led agriculture in Kenya.

We look forward to sharing key lessons and experiences from this important journey as we continue promoting agroecology, resilient food systems, and sustainable farming communities.
