Nyeri High School is located a few kilometers from Nyeri Town in Central Province, Kenya. The school is sponsored by the Catholic Church. Fr. S.K.

It was started as a Primary Boys’ Boarding School in 1924 by the Consolata Catholic Missionaries. It became a Junior Secondary School in 1947. In 1948 it was taken over by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart from the United States of America. In 1954, Nyeri High School became a full secondary school and offered the first group of ‘O’ level Examination in 1955 under the headship of Rev. Lionel. In 1963 the school expanded with the introduction of the ‘A’ – level. By the end of the year 2008, our admission register stood at 10516. We are proud to note that Nyeri High School has produced quite a good number of very prominent personalities in our country. With the able stewardship of the Principal, Mr. Nderitu, the Board of Governors, the Teaching staff, our industrious students and support staff, the school continues to rise higher, operating under the following principles;

School: Nyeri High School, Nyeri County, Aberdares region.

Subjects: German and English.

Achievements:

She handled German in 2012 KCSE and attained a mean of 9.593, a drop in performance of -0.296 from the 2011 mean score. The subject was position four in the school. one in the county, and 18 nationally. The subject performed above the school mean by +0.118.

Was a swimming coach although the school did not own a swimming pool.

Involved in community work at King’ong’o Prison, including teaching inmates, mentoring, tree planting, and construction of a library. She is also the St John’s Ambulance matron.

Took students to Turkey for global financial award competition.
