Are you a young innovator?
Are you registered with Origin Labs Africa? Origin Research and Innovation Labs invites youth innovators for impactful problem proposals addressing local communities and aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This call is open to under-35-year-old students & youth solvers, and ideas with African replication potential are encouraged. Submit 2-page proposals by 29th December 2023.

Five winners receive $200 and a recognition certificate. Winners will be revealed on 13th January, 2024.

Prof. Peter Ng'ang'a Muchiri, Vice-Chancellor of DeKUT, and Mr Antonio Pedro, Acting Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission of Africa (UNECA), signed an agreement that provides a framework for to host and develop the Origin Research and Innovations Labs Physical Hub of East Africa.

The signing, took place at the beginning of the Second Forum of the Alliance of Entrepreneurial Universities in Africa (AEUA), Dr. Victor Konde, Scientific Affairs Officer with UNECA, elaborated on the concept of Origin Research and Innovation Labs (called the Origin) .

Prof. Paul Ndirangu Kioni, Ag. Head, Research-Innovation Ecosystems and Entrepreneurship Education Office DeKUT is currently championing this initiative and gave a status report on the development of the Physical Hub of East Africa, including the origin website, which is now accessible at https://Originlabsafrica.org/.

Origin will play an essential catalytic role in attaining this noble goal. A Project Document will guide the hub's development for the next three years signed between UNECA and DeKUT.
