Gikeno Primary School is a rural school in Central Kenya near Nyahururu.The school is located in Nyandarua county. The premises were once a dairy depot for the colonialist who lived in that part of Kenya for many years. It was opened on May 17, 1990 with an enrolment of 183 pupils, the first Head Master being Mr. Peterson Muchai.The name 'Gikeno' means happiness in Kikuyu, the local dialect.
