Today, KSF met with the learners they support at Edmund Rice Catholic Education Centre (ERCEC) to check on their progress ahead of the commencement of Term Three.

They were joined by ERCEC alumni, who continue to journey alongside and encourage the learners in their educational journey. The visit included a tour of the Centre, after which the guests were treated to a cup of Kenyan tea at the Edmund Rice Dairy Café.

We appreciate KSF and our alumni for their continued commitment to walking with and supporting our learners.

Kevin Odhiambo ERCEC alumni has graduated from Strathmore University with a Master of Science in Information Technology (System Security and Forensics), marking a significant milestone in his academic and professional journey. On our last day of the term, we gathered at the McGarry Library to celebrate the incredible service of our volunteers, interns, and teaching practice students at ERCEC. Their dedication has made a lasting difference in the lives of our learners and staff, and we are truly grateful.

A heartfelt thank you to Janik Held, Maureen Gikuhi, Josephine Otieno, Deborah Bosire, Br. Lawrence, Ali Omusinya, and Kensei Asai for your support during this period. We bid you farewell with love and wish you joy and success in every step ahead.

Over the past year, Janik has fully embraced life at ERCEC, taking on the exciting challenge of cross-cultural living far from his home country. During this time, he served as a teaching assistant in PP1 and took on other roles in the secondary section. As his time in Kenya and at ERCEC wraps up this August, we’re deeply appreciative of his dedication and service. We cherish the wonderful moments that we have shared and the great synergy we have realized together.

We are especially happy to hear that as he returns to Germany, he plans to study and pursue a career in teaching—a path inspired by his hands-on experience at our school. This is a great reminder of how powerful experiences can be in shaping who we are and who we become, and we’re glad ERCEC played a part in that.
