Braeburn Nanyuki celebrated another wonderful year on Tuesday at their annual Speech Day with the theme 'One of a Kind'. Children from across the school were recognised for their achievements and progress during the year; Sarah Kruger (Arts & Play therapist, Director of 'Pepo La Tumani') gave a thought-provoking speech; the Y8 children were waved on their way; and the audience was treated to an array of singing and dancing performances throughout the event. Our outgoing Head Pupils - Edie and Liam - were thanked and they welcomed the 2026-27 post-holders - Evie and Neil.
This year also included a goodbye to the Gould family who have been at the heart of BNIS for the last 9 years. Mrs Gould has led the school as Headteacher for the last 5.5 years, Mr Gould has been a well-loved teacher and the Gould children have spent their childhoods at the school. We wish them every happiness in their next adventure back in the UK.

What a breathtaking week it’s been in EYFS! Our little superstars absolutely blew us away with this term's production of 'There Is a Sunflower in My Supper'.

This year, we gave the story a brand-new twist to match our 'Safari' learning topic. Led by our star character Kibibi (Daisy the cow), the wise Babu Owl, and a fantastic group of traditional cow herders, the savannah truly came alive. The stage erupted with vibrant market scenes, buzzing bees, leaping squirrels, and blooming sunflowers.

The absolute highlight? The children incorporated traditional Maasai dance moves into the choreography! Watching them leap, stamp, and groove to the rhythmic safari beats with so much pride was unforgettable.

Every single child showed incredible growth and confidence. They nailed their lines, sang with pure joy, and absolutely owned the stage.

A massive thank you to our wonderful parents for the amazing costumes, to Mrs. Bebbington for the stunning backdrop, and to our tireless staff. But most of all, well done to our phenomenal children—you brought the magic of the safari straight to our hearts!

There is something truly special about school life at Braeburn Nanyuki, and you only have to look up at the mountain we live beneath to see it. While classroom lessons are our day-to-day, the annual Year 8 expedition up Mount Kenya is where the real magic happens, testing our Year 8's grit and resilience in a way nothing else can. This June, our oldest children swapped their school uniforms for thermal layers, hiking boots, and heavy daypacks to take on the ultimate challenge.

The summit wasn't just about reaching the top; it was about every word of encouragement, every step taken together and every challenge overcome as one team. That's the spirit that makes Braeburn Nanyuki so special.

Huge congratulations to our amazing hikers and a big thank you to the staff and Basecamp team who made this life-changing experience possible. You have made the entire school community incredibly proud!
