Egerton University Botanical Garden: A Living Centre for Conservation, Learning and Recreation:

Egerton University Botanical Garden is a unique living laboratory that brings together plant conservation, teaching, research, environmental education and recreation, Located within Egerton University’s Main Campus in Njoro, the Garden provides a serene natural environment where students, researchers, staff and visitors can appreciate and learn about plant diversity and the importance of environmental conservation.

The Garden supports the conservation of indigenous trees, medicinal plants, herbs, shrubs, grasses and other plant species, providing valuable opportunities for practical learning and scientific research. It serves as an open-air classroom where students and researchers can undertake field studies, practical lessons and biodiversity-related research.

Beyond its academic and conservation roles, the Botanical Garden offers a peaceful setting for nature walks, bird watching, photography, environmental education and recreation**. Its natural beauty and diverse vegetation make it an important attraction within the University.

Through the Botanical Garden, Egerton University continues to demonstrate its commitment to environmental stewardship, biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and community engagement.
