WHY IS FORGIVENESS SO HARD?

Psychologically, forgiveness isn't the same as excusing what happened or automatically reconciling with the person who hurt you. It involves working through resentment and changing how the hurt continues to control you.

Biblically, forgiveness is also placed alongside putting away bitterness, rage and malice.

And just to note, that, forgiveness might not targetted for the person who hurts or offends you, but for the person who forgives. It's healing in itself!

HEALING OF THE SOUL

Have you ever wondered why someone can look perfectly fine on the outside… yet struggle deeply within?

A human being is more than what can be seen. We have a body that interacts with the physical world. We have a spirit through which we relate to God. And we have an inner life—our thoughts, emotions, desires, memories, decisions and perceptions—that Scripture often speaks of in terms of the soul.

And here is where it gets interesting:

Much of what we do every day passes through this inner world.

How we interpret what someone says, How we respond when we are offended, How we handle disappointment, How we trust people, How we make decisions, How we see ourselves. How we love, How we forgive, How we respond to correction, How we react when things don't go our way.

So what happens when the soul becomes wounded?
