Following a month-long fundraising exercise to help purchase some ICT equipments for our former primary school, the Kahuho Primary School Alumni Association chairman Mr. Paul Mugoh led a section of the alumni to present the gifts to the school in Gilgil.
Its was a nice moment as tje association had delivered one of the many successes it intends to deliver to this institution.
Below is the statement from the Chairperson in regards to the exercise.

GIFTS TO KAHUHO PRIMARY SCHOOL
"On Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, I, along with our Secretary Karash, Treasurer Pius, our liaison in the Kahuho Primary School Board of Management Karuga, and other members of our Kahuho Primary School Alumni group, attended the prayer day of our former Primary School to deliver the ICT items we fundraised for and procured.

We delivered an HP Core i7 computer with 4GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, and a 19-inch TFT monitor, complete with all its accessories. I installed all the required software to make it ready for use by the school without the need for additional applications.
To make the desktop computer capable of wireless connectivity, we delivered a USB WiFi dongle with an antenna.

We also delivered a TPLink 4G LTE Router, allowing internet supply from both wired connections and mobile SIM cards from any service provider. The router can supply wireless internet to 30 devices simultaneously. It can also supply internet using ethernet cables. Just in case that's needed, we delivered an 8-metre patch cord.

We also delivered an Epson printer with ecotank technology capable of printing, scanning, and photocopying documents, along with all its accessories. We included enough ink to print at least 4,500 pages of A4 paper with the printer.

Additionaly, we delivered a carton of printing paper containing 2,500 sheets of plain A4 paper.

Those are the main items we delivered; there were other items that could take much time to post here, such as extension cables that we delivered and will be used to ensure the ICT equipment functions smoothly."

THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION EXPRESSED PROFOUND GRATITUDE*

" After the Candidates' Prayer ceremony and the official handover of ICT equipment, the school administration graciously invited us for a brief meeting to convey their heartfelt gratitude. The Board of Management Chair, the Headteacher, and the Parents' representatives each took a moment to express their sincere thanks to our group for the immensely helpful actions we have taken to support the school.

The Board of Management Chair informed us that Kahuho Primary School is now one of the very few public schools in Gilgil Sub-County equipped with a computer; he could only mention two other similar schools. The Headteacher shared that the school had been incurring substantial expenses by paying individuals to travel to Gilgil Town for tasks requiring a computer or internet access.

Arguably, the most significant impact of our donation lies in ensuring the school receives vital support from the government's free education program. The Headteacher revealed that last year, the school didn't receive any funds from the government due to their failure to register the minimum requirement of 100 pupils on the NEMIS platform.
However, with the acquisition of a computer, a scanner, and an internet router, they can now register all necessary pupils promptly. Consequently, the school will receive the financial backing it rightfully deserves through the government's Free Primary Education Program.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to each one of you for your unwavering support in this endeavor. Your contributions will create a more positive impact on the school than you can possibly imagine."

MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
