The Echoes of Silence ("Brains" do not yell aimlessly )
In the heart of chaos where voices collide,
The thinkers stand still, in shadows they hide,
While loud are the banners, the glitter, the gleam,
Yet wisdomβs soft whispers drift silently dream.
Product bearers strut with all bravado,
The dance of distraction, a viral bravado,
But thoughts like the roots of a deep-seated tree,
Grow silent and strong, seeking truth to be free.
So let not the clamor convince you of worth,
For in quiet reflection, ideas give birth,
In a world of loud demonstrations and cries,
The bravest are often the ones who stay wise.

# # # **Echoes of a Birthright: A Birthday Ode**
On this day, many moons ago,
A Monday dawned, a soft hello,
From celestial realms, the cosmos stirred,
And destiny whispered, my spirit heard.
In the heart of Kenya, I drew my first breath,
A canvas awaiting, vibrant life and death.
Named Toboso, a legacy profound,
A ruler of marama, in history renowned.
Kennedy, a name steeped in tales of might,
A tribute to courage, in dark and light.
From shores of Chappaquiddick, a sorrowful sound,
Yet hope in the struggle; such tenacity found.
Born in a time when freedom bloomed,
Africa, rising, her future resumed.
Independence crowned us with dreams untold,
In the embrace of the sun, our stories unfold.
Oh, let my heart leap with great joy today,
For the tapestry woven in countless array.
With laughter and love, as my essence ignites,
Grateful I stand, welcoming the heights.
Thank you, dear Universe, for journeys begun,
For lessons of struggle, for victories won.
May each year be a chapter, each moment a song,
In the dance of existence, where all souls belong.
So here, I celebrate, under vast skies of blue,
In the rhythm of life, in all that is true.
For on this day, each year anew,
I honor my spirit, my name, and my view.
"Tear Gas Tears": The Killing Fields of Freedom by Toboso Kennedy
In streets of stone, where freedom's cry resounds
Uniformed demons wreak havoc all around
Peaceful voices silenced, cut down by lead
Their screams and pleas lost, as death takes its seed
Their bodies borne away, in secret sacks and pain
Leaving loved ones weeping, their hearts in vain
The nation mourns, its people torn apart
As leaders revel, with a callous heart
The Commander-in-Chief, with power's sweet thrill
Gives orders cold, with no qualm or will
To mow down youth, with bullets' deadly hail
And justify the slaughter, with a heart of flail
Some stand by his side, with bloodlust in their eyes
Authorized to kill, with no regrets or sighs
Others follow suit, without a second thought
Drinking deep from the cup of violence and naught
But amidst the chaos, a glimmer shines bright
Of courage unbroken, in the face of endless fight
The spirit of justice, that burns like a flame
Guiding the brave, who refuse to play the game
For freedom's sake, they take a stand today
Against the tyranny, that seeks to slay
Their voices raised high, like a beacon in the night
A call to end the killing, to bring back the light.
I refuse to witness, this painful ordeal, so hear my poetic cry

MY ADVICE TO THE GOVERNMENT ON GEN Zs
To effectively address the concerns and aspirations of Generation Z in Kenya, the government should adopt a multifaceted approach. This includes creating Youth Advisory Councils and organizing regular dialogues to ensure direct engagement with young people. Improving education quality to meet modern workforce needs and supporting startups with funding and mentorship programs are crucial.
Economic reforms should involve reviewing the Finance Bill with youth input and launching youth employment initiatives. Expanding digital infrastructure and providing digital skills training can further empower the youth. Additionally, promoting social justice, environmental sustainability, and protecting the right to protest are essential.
Encouraging corporate social responsibility and fostering public-private partnerships can address social issues and drive innovation. Transparent governance practices and mechanisms for ongoing youth feedback will build trust and ensure accountability.
By implementing these recommendations, the Kenyan government can harness the energy and innovation of its youth, fostering a more vibrant, equitable, and prosperous society.

ONE MAN ONE SHILLING IS NOT SUITABLE FOR KENYA.
The "One Man One Shilling" revenue allocation model is not suitable for Kenya because it fails to account for the diverse socio-economic and geographical disparities across its regions. This approach would disproportionately disadvantage less populated but larger and potentially more resource-dependent areas, exacerbating inequality and undermining efforts to ensure equitable development and access to essential services across the country.

THE ECONOMIC RECOLONIZATION OF KENYA: A CAUTIONARY TALE
Kenya's economic landscape is increasingly influenced by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), often perceived as a modern-day trickster. The IMF offers loans at seemingly attractive interest rates, but these come with stringent conditions that resemble a new form of colonization. These conditions often require Kenya to implement austerity measures, liberalize its economy, and prioritize debt repayment over social and economic development. This dynamic can undermine the country's sovereignty and long-term economic stability.
To avoid falling into the trap of IMF-imposed debt, Kenya should consider several strategies.
1. It is crucial to shrink government expenditures by eliminating inefficiencies and focusing on essential services. This includes cutting down on non-essential spending and ensuring that public funds are used effectively and transparently.
2. The government should take active steps to motivate taxpayers. This could involve simplifying the tax system, improving tax compliance, and offering incentives for prompt payment. Encouraging a culture of tax compliance will increase revenue without the need for external borrowing.
3. Kenya must commit to spending within its means. This involves creating and adhering to a realistic budget that prioritizes critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, while avoiding unnecessary debt accumulation.
By implementing these strategies, Kenya can avoid the pitfalls of IMF debt and maintain greater economic independence and stability.

We just concluded a rich survey on teenage pregnancy in Narok County. The number of unreported cases is alarming. This is majorly linked to the socio-cultural economic practices in the area.
Educational stakeholders in the area need to put in place strategies that will ensure that all pregnant girls do not drop out of school, but instead be encouraged to continue and complete their education.
