St.Francis School - Lare The school was started in 1986 by the Franciscan brothers (OSF). Founder Principal late Br. Larry.

The vision of the school is ‘To transform the Lare Community through education ’and the mission statement is; ‘To provide and promote quality education based on Christian and Catholic values for the formation of the WHOLE person.’ The philosophy of the school is based on the Catholic Church’s desire to assist less privileged children in their needs and aspirations through the provision of a Wholistic Education. The school’s objectives are: offering the rural poor community affordable education, liaising and collaborating with the Ministry of Education and the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru for the provision of educational and developmental needs of students. Co-creation of values that ensure students receive a holistic education for the integral development of the person and focusing on environmental and ecological issues of the area by incorporating agriculture as a core subject and establishing a club that seeks to preserve, restore and develop our damaged environment. The Franciscan Brothers play a pivotal role in fulfilling these main objectives. The school engages in various activities which are in line with its objectives, goals, mission and vision. These activities include; Guidance and counselling, Sports activities (outdoor and In-door games such as darts, table tennis, chess, scrabble,ball games), Clubs (Environmental club, Red Cross, Science), Movements for pastoral care (Young Christian Students for Catholic students and Christian Union for the protestants), Scouts and farming. The school has a disciplined and peaceful environment for holistic growth of a person. It has enjoyed good performance and reputation in the Nakuru county.
