Mentorship remains a key strategic objective of the National Defence University–Kenya (NDU-K), reflecting the University's unwavering commitment to nurturing ethical leadership, resilience and responsible citizenship among the next generation.

Representing the University in a mentorship engagement at Moi Forces Academy–Lanet, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs), Professor Anne Muigai, challenged parents to take a more intentional role in shaping their children's character. The strength of a nation is reflected in the character of its young people. Guided by its strategic mandate of community outreach, the National Defence University–Kenya (NDU-K) successfully concluded a transformative mentorship initiative at Nakuru High School under the theme, "Mentoring Young Men for Integrity, Discipline, Leadership and Service."

More than a mentorship programme, the initiative was a deliberate investment in the nation's future, inspiring young men to embrace integrity, cultivate discipline, lead with courage and serve with selflessness.

At the National Defence University–Kenya (NDU-K), community outreach is a strategic mandate. This Sunday, the University will facilitate a transformative mentorship programme under the theme, "Mentoring Young Men for Integrity, Discipline, Leadership and Service." Through this initiative, NDU-K continues to inspire character, instil values and empower the next generation to lead with purpose, serve with honour and make a lasting impact on society.

NDU-K ADVANCES STRATEGIC VISION FOR NAVAL PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION

The National Defence University–Kenya (NDU-K) continues to strengthen its position as Kenya's premier institution for higher defence education, research, innovation and strategic leadership by championing transformative initiatives that advance professional military education across the Kenya Defence Forces. In line with this commitment, the University is conducting a preliminary assessment visit to the Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC) as part of its roadmap to integrate the naval institution as a college of NDU-K.

The assessment seeks to evaluate KNTC's institutional, academic and training capacity in preparation for its accreditation and eventual integration into the University's academic framework.

The increasingly complex global security environment demands a new generation of intellectually agile leaders capable of providing strategic, evidence-based solutions to multidimensional security challenges. In response to this evolving landscape, the National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing strategic policy, defence and security studies as it welcomed three new postgraduate cohorts at the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) and one cohort at the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC), both colleges of the University.

The induction ceremony, held at the University Seat in Lanet, was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Lieutenant General David Tarus who welcomed to the University the two institutions led by the Director of the International Peace Support Training Centre, Major General Charles Mwazighe and Colonel Trevor Ogutu representing the Commandant Joint Command and Staff College.
