At the heart of Smart Start is Erem Kassam a married mother of two young girls, acquired her Bachelor's degree from Ryerson University in Canada. She has also seen first-hand the struggles of finding reliable, safe and healthy childcare that is also enriching for young children. She has worked in the field for over 20 years as a teacher, supervisor and director and knows how important it is that a school is operated around both parents’ schedule and children's needs. Her most recent position was that of a professor teaching the Early Childhood Education course at a university level. She is passionate about children and encourages dialogue with parents, caregivers, support workers and most importantly the children.
