The objectives and mandate of International Safety Training Centre (ISTC), is to offer training programmes on Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Protection including Environmental Impact Assessments and Audits, Chemical Hazards and Control, Fire Safety Management, Disaster/Emergency Preparedness, First Aid Management, HIV/AIDS Management, Noise Hazards Awareness among oth

er critical areas of Safety and Health. ISTC is a sister company of Safety Surveyors Ltd, a firm of specialist consultants providing Risk Management Advisory services to the general business community but with special emphasis on the insurance industry. ISTC was founded out of the realization that there are many unnecessary accidents, illnesses, injuries and even fatalities occurring in workplaces and in the general community, which could be avoided if people were conscious and aware of the need to keep safe and healthy. Therefore by offering these training opportunities in which diverse knowledge, skills and competencies are imparted, we hope to prevent or significantly reduce Occupational accidents/injuries and potential environmental degradation and associated costs. Our courses are also aimed at helping industrial, commercial, governmental and non governmental organisations to comply with all the relevant laws and regulations such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 2007 and the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA) of 1999 in Kenya. We disseminate safety, health and environmental protection information mainly through our training activities but also through the production and distribution of fliers, pamphlets, posters, audio-visual materials etc. Our points of dissemination include health institutions (such as clinics and hospitals) where victims of accidents and injuries go for treatment, workplaces, social places, electronic and print media as well as educational institutions from primary and secondary schools right up to colleges and/or universities.
