We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire incident at Utumishi Girls Academy.
Schools are places of learning, safety, and hope, and it is heartbreaking to witness such a devastating tragedy affecting students, families, educators, and the wider school community.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and stand in solidarity with the Utumishi Girls community during this incredibly difficult time.

That was the core message at the 3rd Annual Educational Assessment Symposium hosted by The The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and Educational Assessment Resource Centre (EARC) and it's exactly what drives 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙗𝙮 𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙨, our EdTech solution for teacher professional development and learning outcomes.

We explored how LeadNow can help:

✓ Data and evidence inform both policy and implementation

The conversations also surfaced critical sector questions:

💡And how do we move from innovation to evidence-based impact at scale?

As Kenya strengthens its position as a leader in digital innovation, one thing is clear — supporting teachers to confidently adopt technology is foundational to improving learning outcomes.

Improving learning outcomes requires a system that is aligned, responsive, and working together.

Last week, this came to life as we joined partners across the 𝐀𝐋𝐢𝐕𝐄 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 for a 3-day 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗜 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 convening, bringing together government and education actors advancing life skills and values-based education. The ALiVE Programme focuses on ensuring children gain the skills and values they need to thrive in school, work, and life.

As an implementing partner, our work in Isiolo focuses on supporting teachers through training and coaching to integrate these skills into everyday teaching and learning.

But strong classroom practice is just the starting point. For this work to last and reach more learners, it needs to be supported across the system through:

✔️ Alignment across education actors
✔️ Use of evidence to inform decisions
✔️ Coordination between policy, schools, and communities
✔️ Sustained system-level support

This is what it takes to move from strong teaching in individual classrooms to lasting impact for all learners.
