The Kenya Women Teachers Association (KEWOTA) celebrates the official opening of *KEWOTA Psychological Support Group Centre*. Registered as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), this facility will be a key partner to the association. The center has been established to provide essential mental wellness services and localized psychological support to all kenyans including our dedicated teachers.

To dedicate this sanctuary of healing, wellness, and peace to the service of the community, the launch commenced with a solemn and powerful Day of Prayer, worship and thanx giving to God.
Now fully operational as a CBO rooted in community welfare, the centre is ready to serve as a safe haven for counseling, guidance, and emotional restoration.

A new chapter in psychosocial empowerment has officially begun after the *Kenya Women Teachers Association* successfully secured formal registration and certification of its _*Psychological Support Center Group as a Community Based Organization (CBO).*_ This remarkable milestone strengthens the association’s commitment towards promoting mental wellness and psychosocial support for teachers across the country.

As part of the end-term professional engagements, *_Wanyang Peter Mayor, the dynamic KEWOTA Training Coordinator for Siaya County,_* made a landmark visit to Mahola Senior School, one of the most established and respected day schools in the region. What followed was a powerful affirmation that KEWOTA is redefining the future of the Kenyan teacher.

In a highly engaging and practical session, Mayor took the Mahola staff through *AMAL AI* training, focusing on the critical professional documents that define teacher effectiveness.

From learning to conviction.Teachers expressed overwhelming appreciation for how AMAL AI simplifies professional documentation — allowing them to prepare records seamlessly at the comfort of their phones. But by deliberate action.Over 80% of the teachers immediately requested recruitment into KEWOTA. Teachers registered for KEWOTA-supported phones and laptops in preparation for the April Mental Wellness Rollout.

Today, 27th March, KEWOTA CEO, accompanied by the admin team and Kiambu office staff, visited and inspected the upcoming teacher wellness center in Kiambu.

The center is now fully registered as "KEWOTA PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT CENTER GROUP" and is set to be launched by 1st April 2025.

The wellness center is set to be a mental wellness hub for teachers and will be equipped with all resources needed, including 24/7 professional support, counselling, and rehabilitation services.

Other than being resourced, the center also features a serene environment that boosts mental wellness and provides a place to unwind and relax.

KEWOTA is now working on the facility upgrades and resourcing ahead of the upcoming launch.

KEWOTA also welcomes support from like-minded partners and government institutions to offer their support towards the mental wellness of teachers.

*KEWOTA AT THE INAUGURAL NATIONAL FOUNDATION LEARNING CONFERENCE IN MOMBASA*

When the Ministry of Education convened the inaugural National Foundation Learning Conference at the breathtaking Wild Waters in Mombasa, it was more than a gathering of policymakers and educators. It was a national awakening. And standing boldly at the heart of it was KEWOTA — resolute, visionary, and unmistakably present.

_KEWOTA did not merely attend._
_KEWOTA conspicuously took its place — as a voice of reason, reform, and revolutionary hope._

On Day Two, the atmosphere shifted. There are moments when a room becomes still — not out of silence, but out of expectation. That moment came when KEWOTA CEO, Madam Benter Opande, rose to deliver her keynote address.
And she did not just speak.
She powerfully ignited!

With clarity sharpened by intellect and conviction anchored in lived reality, Madam Opande delivered a message that cut through rhetoric and went straight to the soul of foundational learning. She reminded the nation that teachers are not merely implementers of curriculum — they are architects of destiny. That no reform, however well designed, can't succeed unless the teacher is fully prepared, properly equipped, and consistently supported.

Not to trengthening pre-service teacher preparation so that training institutions produce not just graduates, but transformational educators came out so boldly.

She challenged stakeholders not to romanticize foundational learning, *_but to fund it, protect it, and prioritize it._* She called for collaboration that is intentional, for reforms that are practical, and for leadership that is courageous enough to put teachers first.

KEWOTA’s participation in this historic conference was not symbolic — it was strategic. The KEWOTA Homa Bay team carried out multiple engagements across the county. The day began with a courtesy visit to the Anglican Church Nyanza Region Bishop, where discussions were held on the upcoming awareness walk and key areas of collaboration agreed upon. A follow up meeting is scheduled for Tuesday next week.

The team then proceeded to Homa Bay High School, where teachers were trained on AMAL and new members registered. The session generated four tank requests and one laptop request.

Further engagement was held at Lumina Wellness Centre, where the Director expressed willingness to partner with KEWOTA and committed to participating in the upcoming event. The team also visited AKO Law Firm, which showed strong interest and pledged support and participation.
