What does opportunity look like?
For Lilian Ashimwe, an urban refugee from the DRC living in Kenya, it looks like gaining digital skills, accessing online work opportunities, and building a future on her own terms.
Through the Ajira Digital Program, implemented by eMobilis with the strategic support of the Mastercard Foundation, and in collaboration with RefuSHE Kenya, Lilian was equipped with the skills and support needed to participate in the digital economy.
Her journey reminds us that behind every refugee story is talent, resilience, ambition, and the determination to succeed.
This World Refugee Day, let's celebrate the young women who are breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and showing the world that talent goes far beyond borders.
