ONE DAY ALL WILL BE WELL

i was sitting on a bench after lunch with my friend, and next to us was a lady who looked sad but composed. she was smart and carrying an envelope. my friend was telling me a part of her past and this is just a part of it.

"..........it was not easy at all, graduating with a diploma in business from campus and finding a wild world, company after company and they all were saying no vacancies, i tried media houses, manufacturing companies, hospitals, training institutes, churches, but nothing was forthcoming"......."six months and to make the matters worse i was staying with a friend who was starting to get impatience with me,"

" then one morning i went to a security firm. i didn't carry my certificate because i thought i was overqualified to be a guard. I was recruited as a day guard here in Nairobi, opening gates, security checks, directing visitors and chasing away street boys.......".

"But one morning i talked to my fellow colleagues and was shocked to listen to their qualifications, one with degree in statistics, one with HND in engineering, one with financial accounting, one with CPAK. And all guarding with me....."

"..realizing i was not the only one gave me hope that so long as i keep trying all will be well one day" 'there has to be a starting point"

"...and look at me now i drive , i have my own house and i would say God has really Blessed me" "it has been long but with patience, determination and Gods grace i have overcome"

As we left the bench the lady who was sitting next to us said "Hey, excuse me, Thanks for your encouragement"

YOU ARE BLESSED WITH UNUSUAL CAPABILITY,

Karanja was born deaf and could not talk, the only thing he made were sounds which could not be understood. It is believed that the mother dumped him when she realized his disabilities.

But he was blessed with unusual capability, he could act weird/strange three days to a heavy rain or before a disaster happens. Three days before the rain he could start gathering firewood and collecting papers putting them under a tree where he slept. If there was no rain he could sleep flat facing the sky naked from 2.00pm -4.00pm.

The birds would follow him and consequently benefited from him, its like they understood his signs. The villagers in Muranga too had noticed this and took advantage of it. So they could organize events as per his prediction, even setting weddings and drying cereals. If people saw him gather firewood and papers they would prepare for the rains.

However as much as the society benefited from his unique skills they never sheltered him because he was dirty and never liked dressing. At one instant he was very sick but still no-one bothered to host him.

In one instance he showed signs of a heavy rain; he even tried to beg to be hosted but was turned away. Sure three days after there was rain and a heavy storm and when the villagers woke up the following morning they found the body of Karanja in a trench. Beside the body were several dead birds and some which looked sad and mourning. The rain was too heavy and considering that he had been sick he succumbed to cold and hunger.

He was buried on Saturday but he was dead which means the villagers never knew it was to rain heavily that Saturday afternoon.

Nobody is insignificant, beside the shortcomings and deformities there is the special side of each one of us. You too are very important and this morning I appreciate that little thing you do that others and I cannot do. You are important and we need you. God made you for a purpose and it’s that purpose we thank him for this morning.

"YOU TOO CAN GROW TALL AND STRONG"

This is how a conversation between dad and son went like-
"Dad why are trees so tall and with deep roots?"

"Because they withstand tough rain, hot sun, dust and wind. The deep roots are a strong foundation"

"Its not easy and takes many years and alot of patience. You too my child, can grow as tall as you want, along will be so many challages such as unemployment, sickness, death of loved ones, bad relationships, lack of finance etc"

"And one more thing, go deep in your foundation which is GOD. He will hold you, guard you, shield you and always help you overcome"

The son smiled, held the dads hand and said with a smile. "Dad i will grow as tall and strong like a tree".

I STRIPPED/NAKED IN FRONT OF BIG MEN.
{true story by Abigail Wafula}

I serve in the Army and there is one day I will never forget.

“The day I was recruited”
I was just 19 years old and had just done my K.C.S.E exams and got an A. Since my childhood I always wanted to join Cadets in the army and so when the chance came I went for it. That day I arrived early at the recruitment centre, and all was well. I run, the height was okay, the medical test was okay, the feet and the hands. All this tests were done in separate set-up tents and every time I was told to move to the next tent I knew my dreams was coming nearer. Then came the last tent where I expected would be to pick the call-up notice.

When I entered I met a lady sergeant and other senior recruiting officers about 6 men and 3 women.
Then the lady sergeant said “remove your clothes” I looked around to see who she was addressing, just to see everyone staring at me. A man who seemed harsh repeated “did you hear that? Be naked!! I stood still but another man triggered action when he said “hey chap chap ama utoke uende”

Slowly I started to unbutton my tops, and there I was with a bra and my jeans trouser. I was shaking, and felt scared. A woman sitting at the back said “the instructions are you remove all your clothes”. There was no way out. I closed my eyes opened by bra and let go, reached my trouser zip and down fell the trouser. All this time I was closing my eyes and for the first time in my life I was naked infront of big men, with only my pink pants. Then some gentle hands touched my b***s and down my body, she was talking to me and told me “don’t be scared.”

She then stepped aside as I was told to turn round slowly which I did still closing my eyes. The sergeant said its okay now you can dress up. Later I asked her why it is done like that which she explained. {Luckily nowadays you do it in respective gender rooms.}

I received the call-up letter and as I left the room I had this lesson in mind”
In life there are several challenges we face, some so hard to accept and humiliating, unfortunately those moments are necessarily for us to move on, they are a requirement for us to move on. Some moments will come when we are so close to win. We don’t have to turn back, it’s a test for strength, courage and determination.

How often do we fail to strip naked for God, let go in front of him, confess everything to him. It doesn’t matter what you are going through, all he is saying is strip.

“And by the way am now a senior captain in the Army and I thank God I stripped. Am now married and always strip in front of my husband. I assure you stripping everything in front of God is more important.”

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear or be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31:6

HERE IS A TRUE STORY TOLD AS CONFESSED BY MRS AKINYI.

I remember once when my daughter was very young, and needed to go into hospital for a small operation. She was very afraid of being left alone, afraid that her parents would not be with her, and she asked her mother "Please, Mom, come in with me?" It broke our hearts to tell her that we could not go in with her, despite knowing that she would be well cared for by the medical staff. I remember well the tears in her eyes as she was wheeled away into the theatre, and I offered up a small prayer, asking God to calm her and look after her.

Of course, it all went well, but it occurred to me that we as adults are not much more than children before God at times, when we too fear being left alone with our troubles and concerns. So many times we are faced with difficulties that we feel incapable of handling, and we immediately look for a hand to hold, some comforting presence of another person who will go with us, re-assure us and help us through the ordeal.

Well, God's word promises that when we feel that fear, we only need to remember that He is the one who will be with us through it all, he is the one who will not leave us or forsake us. That is God's promise.

So if you are facing what seems to be an insurmountable challenge that is making you afraid, remember that you are still a child to God your father. Speak to him, say "Please, God, come in with me?"

And be assured, He will. Always.

I pray that God will give you peace today.

WHEN A HELICOPTER LANDED ON HER FARM IN NYERI.

This mothers testimony got me believe there is a reason for what we go trough each day. be it bad luck, unemployment, sickness, poor relationships. don't worry when a Helicopter is re-directed to you it will be bringing good tidings your way and at the right time.

I QUOTE HER

"at the start of this season i didn't have money to cultivate my land, as i was bedridden with Malaria and at the same time i didn't have enough money. so i opted to growing sweet potatoes and mihogo of which i got the grafting s from a neighbor."

"but they have not done well as i thought and my only son is out of highschool due to a fees balance of 11,000Kshs."

"on sunday the little i thought i would get from the farm was destroyed when a helicopter landed on my farm due to bad weather. It attracted a huge crowd and they really stamped on my crops"

"Alas as the weather cleared the pilot and the owner of the helicopter reached his pocket and gave me 21,000Kshs and said he was just compensating for the damage caused due to his Helicopter landing on my farm."

never in my life have i made such a harvest, my son is back to class and will do KNEC exams this year" "INDEED GOD WORKS IN A MYSTERIOUS WAY"

at your lowest moments, when the harvest seems low, hope is gone,.....Dont loose hope. God uses any means to bless you and when he does your sorrow will be gone.

A LETTER FROM GOD.

Do you feel at a loss right now? Do you feel that God is not talking to you and that you really need His care and attention right now? Many of us do, and so let us believe for a minute that this is our letter from God:

Dear Child

I just wanted to remind you today of how beautiful you are because there is a father of lies who will try to deceive you.

so many things will try to tell you that you are not good enough, not attractive enough, not thin enough, not strong enough, not smart enough, not righteous enough, and that you are simply unimportant to me.

They will try to tell you that you have broken one too many promises, that you have fallen one too many times, that you have lived one too many lies, and that you've been going in the wrong direction so long that it is pointless to turn back now.

But guess what?

YOU DO NOT BELONG THERE. I AM YOUR GOD.

You see, you are my creation. My workmanship. You have been born of my thought, every part of you placed together by my hands. You have my thumbprint upon you. You are precious, did you know that? You are my child, the child of THE King!

I look at you and see a precious, priceless pearl. There is no ocean I would not swim, no mountain I would not climb, no price I would not pay to have you and to be with you and call you my own.

I already have.

I have done all that I could, given all that there is. I desire to be with you every moment of every day. How I long for you to talk to me every day. My love for you never grows cold. My promises are never broken (contrary to what he might lead you to believe). My character never changes. And you, my child, have been made in my image.

I love you dearly, unconditionally and completely. I understand every emotion that you have. I've been there. I count every tear that you cry. I know every hair on your head. And do you know what?

I even know your weaknesses and your failures and your fears. I know those hidden parts of you that you wish would go away. Those dark corners of your world that you stuff deep down, praying that no one will ever see. I have already seen them and they will not change my love for you.

Nothing will. I love your heart and I desire all of it.

I just wanted to remind you today of how beautiful you are and how precious you are to Me.

WHEN THE DARKNESS OVERCOMES

I'm certain we all have childhood memories of being afraid of the dark, of being left alone in the darkness. And when that darkness oppressed us, overcame us, what appeared to save us, to rescue us from our fear? Usually our parents, or an older friend or sibling, or simply a light shining - a light we could focus on and move towards. Always the light appeared to represent safety and refuge.

And although as we grow older our minds become more rational and we are able to ask ourselves "What are we afraid of? The darkness itself? Surely the darkness cannot harm us?", we nevertheless, even as adults, sometimes find ourselves once again plagued by an irrational fear of the dark, or, using darkness as a metaphor, perhaps a fear of the unknown.

This is the time when we need once again to search for the light, for the outstretched hand of our Father. Always God's light will shine through our darkest times, always God's hand is stretched out to comfort and hold us. We only need to look for it. Remember that God's light will never fade, and will always be visible if you seek it. And God's hand will always be outstretched, ready to hold you, no matter how dark your night might seem.

So if you are experiencing a particularly dark period in your life, if you are feeling fear in the blackness of your concerns and worries, look around you for God's light, focus on it and move towards it. Reach out and let God take your hand to guide you through the night.

I pray that you will see God's welcoming light shining through your darkness today.

CONSIDER THIS STORY

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play with in the woods. He practiced and practiced but could never hit the target. Becoming somewhat discouraged; he headed back to dinner.

As he was returning, he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and grieved. In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the woodpile, only to see his sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but said nothing.

After lunch that day, Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes." But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen today, didn't you, Johnny?" And then she whispered to him, "Remember, the duck?" So Johnny did the dishes.

Later Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing, and Grandma said, "I'm sorry, but I need Sally to help make supper." But Sally smiled and said, "Well, that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help." And she whispered again, "Remember, the duck?" So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's, he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He went to Grandma and confessed that he had killed her pet duck and asked her forgiveness.

She knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window, and I saw the whole thing. And because I love you, I forgive you. But I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you."

I don't know what's in your past. I don't know what one sin the enemy keeps throwing up in your face. But whatever it is, I want you to know something. Jesus Christ was also standing at the window. And He saw the whole thing. And because He loves you, He will forgive you if you will but ask. Perhaps He's wondering how long you will let the enemy make a slave out of you.

The great thing about Jesus is that He not only forgives, but He forgets.

Let it go! Do not become a slave to it! Ask God for forgiveness, for as truly as you have sinned, God will forgive. There is nothing, no sin, no good deed, NOTHING that God does not know about you. You will not surprise God by confessing what you have done and asking for forgiveness. And you will be released from it!

1 John 1:9

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

GOD WILL STAY WITH YOU.

How often is it that when we are at our lowest, when we are down and out, that others seem to want to inflict more and more suffering on us? When we are utterly unable to defend ourselves any further, when we have finally fallen, it sometimes feels as though some people wish to make sure we never rise again.

And it may well be that way with you right now - perhaps you feel abandoned by someone you were relying on, perhaps you feel betrayed by someone you trusted.

It doesn't matter though - it is important only to remember that at these times you are never alone - God is with you. When you are in trouble, abandoned and alone, you need someone to stand by you. God will be the one. When you need the love and strength of someone by your side, God will be the one. When you need someone to take your hand and guide you, God will be the one. When you need someone to fight at your side against seemingly overwhelming odds, God will be the one.

Look up and stretch out your hand, hold on to God - for always, God will surely hold on to you.

Psalm 18:18

"They struck me when I was down, but God stayed with me."

"PAID IN FULL WITH ONE GLASS OF MILK AND TWO TABLETS"

Just by the junction of westland here in Nairobi, Otieno who was a doctor in Nairobi Hospital was attacked and his car stolen. He was dumped by the road side where he moaned with pain. To make the matters worse he was asthmatic and the medicines were inside the stolen car, he was breathing heavily and with unease. Passersby’s ignored him while those driving by pretended to have seen nothing.

A school girl in class four who was also passing by was touched and went over to the man. The man begged her for help; but instead the girl reached her school bag pulled out her lunch box and gave the man some tablets and some milk. The girl was asthmatic too and had seen the signs in the man. She then left without saying a word.

The medicine made the man strong and as he stood the girl was already gone. The only thing he could remember was her face and her name which was written on her school sweater “Lyeen”.

Many years later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to Nairobi Hospital, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Otieno was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the Lady, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once, but the lady could not. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won.

The bill was then sent to the ladies room, She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she opened, and sure a shocking 238,980 Kshs bill. But something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words ...

"Paid in full with one glass of milk and two tablets"

(Signed)
Dr. Otieno.

Just then the doctor Otieno entered with a bouquet of flowers and explained everything to her; Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed:

There's a saying which goes something like this:
Bread cast on the waters comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place.
