We salute all our friends and supporters for standing with us these past years and more so recently when Covid -19 hit us hard and we couldn’t ran our programs as we had hoped for due to the financial and social constraints that were attributed to the Covid 19 Pandemic. Some of our supporters and friends indeed continued to stand with us even when things seemed tough, and we thank you ALL for that. Special thanks to Mr. Jim Ponder for standing with us when we really needed his support.
The good news is that soon we shall be resuming our activities and programs to full scale as we undergo restructuring, resource mobilizations and possible partnerships for our activities and programs. We shall be announcing these changes in due course.

The psychological trauma that girls in the informal settlement go through when they can’t afford and access sanitary towels/pads is immense on the girl child. We are glad to have shared this small gift of sanitary towels with SUPERB CBO led my Yasmin Mohamed. A true advocate for girls rights and dignity.

Everlyne Achieng just resumed her 3rd semester, first year in high school @ Ngara girls Secondary School. While on the school break she would help her family in house chores and even help coordinate activities for Touch Kibera Foundation. She exemplifies service above self and leadership. Since the Coronavirus pandemic started over a year ago, many families in Kibera slums have felt hard the effects that the pandemic has brought into their lives. e.g lose of jobs, death and above all disintegrated families. John a single father of two girls Diana 10 and Sharon 9, lost his job as a night guard and couldn’t sustain and feed his small family. But from our little basket of donation we helped him set up a small scale business of cooking and selling “Mandazi” doughnuts in Kibera so that he can sustain himself and his two beautiful girls. If he does well and is able to save some money, we will double whatever he has and possibly expand his business. This is a good example of not giving the fish but rather teaching how to fish.
If you would like to donate and help other struggling families like Peter’s please visit our website at www.touchkiberafoundation.org and make your donation. We need your help NOW!

Poor Children
“They are the future of humanity
But many of them living in poverty
And without shelter homeless on the street
Searching through rubbish bins for scraps of food to eat.
Poor children are victims of circumstance
In life they never really get a chance
Or have opportunities as privileged children do
The road from the poor suburb to prison leads them to.
Poor children without homes and sleeping rough
And life for them already hard enough
At the wrong end of the social divide
Any chance of a good future to them is denied.”
Poem by: Francis Dugan.
Ps. Over 1 billion children live under poverty and according to UNICEF over 22,000 children die globally everyday because of poverty.
Surely, we can do something about this!!!.
