Riara University Nurturing Innovators The Riara University was born out of a sincere desire to provide a holistic approach in higher education.

It is a logical continuation of our commitment, dating back to 1974, to ensure education and development of the whole child, learner and person. Ours is a concept that goes beyond the classroom, syllabus-based learning, and reaches out to provide stimulation and motivation for self-development and capacity for life-long education.

Honored to be a part of the Mozilla Responsible Computing Challenge (RCC) Grant, where students showcased their final selected projects, demonstrating creativity, innovation, and a strong commitment to responsible computing.

The presentations were graced by remarks from Dr. Steve Azeka, Mozilla Lead, USA; Dr. Chao Mbogo, Mozilla Foundation Kenya Lead and Founder of Kamilimu; and our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Robert Gateru.

Responsible computing was at the heart of the presentations, highlighting how technology can be designed and applied to create positive, ethical, and meaningful impact in society.

Our students participated in the Campus Spark 2026 intra-university pitch competition, showcasing innovative ideas aimed at solving real-world challenges.

Spearheaded by the Network of Entrepreneurial Institutions Leaders (NEIL), with the involvement of the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA), the initiative continues to empower students to turn ideas into impactful solutions.
