Every year, the Starehe Girls’ Centre Charity Walk brings together students, alumni, parents, teachers, partners, friends, and supporters from all walks of life to walk for a shared cause: educating and empowering bright girls from underprivileged backgrounds.

More than just a walk, the annual SGC Charity Walk is a day of community, impact, mentorship, and hope. Through the support raised, the school is able to continue providing opportunities that go beyond academics, including holistic learning, leadership development, mentorship, nutrition, sustainability programs, and practical life skills that help shape confident and empowered young women.

By supporting the walk, you directly contribute towards creating opportunities for girls to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing environment that believes in their potential.

At Starehe Girls’ Centre (SGC), education goes hand in hand with health, sustainability, and practical life skills. Through the school’s farms and Green & clean culture, students have access to healthy, fresh produce that supports their nutrition, wellbeing, and academic performance. Beyond the classroom, girls also gain hands-on agricultural knowledge by participating in planting, maintaining, and learning about the farms under the guidance of professionals, especially students who take up Agriculture as a subject. For many girls, this becomes an opportunity to develop useful skills in agriculture, environmental stewardship, sustainability, teamwork, and responsibility -- lessons that continue to benefit them far beyond school life.
