Excited and looking forward to working with Nakuru County Government - Official alongside our partners Practical Action in Kenya and Clean Cooking Association of Kenya

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of paying a courtesy call to the County Government of Kajiado to officially launch and discuss an exciting clean cooking project focusing on Strengthening the Capacity of Local Manufacturing and Energy Crops Cultivation for Clean Cooking Supply Chains in Kenya (ELMECC).

Led by Practical Action in Kenya Country Director, Susan Maina, and Project Manager, Purity Ndereba, our teams engaged with county leadership on the 15-month ELMECC Project funded by Uk pact Green Africa (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions).

We want to appreciate Kajiado County leadership for creating an enabling environment for clean cooking particularly to Dr. Jacktone Achola, CEC Member for Roads, Transport, Public Works & Energy, Mr. Lekina Tutui, Chief Officer, Eng. Simon Sitelu, Director of energy, and Kasaine Yiankaso in Department for Public Works, Roads, Housing and Energy.

Kajiado is one of five key counties where we will be co-implementing this project alongside our partners, Practical Action in Kenya and Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK).

🚋 Episode 1 takes us to Kisumu! In this #episode, we are headed to Kisumu for a weeklong #training workshop on repair and maintenance of Electric Pressure Cookers. An important skill for the #ecooking Sector. Hosted by Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT), the Kisumu #ecooking Hub, this is one of the five hubs established under the MECS programme challenge with partners; Africa Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS), Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK), Kenya Power, and Gamos East Africa. The other #ecooking hubs are located in 🌍 Kitui (Caritas Kitui), Makueni (WOTE TTI), Homabay (Nyalore Impact & Mawego TTI), Nakuru (SCODE) and the recently launched Clean Cooking Hub at the Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) by IGNIS and Kenya Power.
