𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆, 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

A meaningful engagement with the leadership of The University of Nairobi provided an opportunity to reflect on a relationship deeply rooted in history, while looking ahead to new possibilities.

Led by Dr Marangu Njogu, CEO, Windle International, the meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof. Ayub N. Gitau, Dean of Students Johnson Kinyua and Head of Communications Teresia Mbugua explored opportunities to build on the existing MoU between the University of Nairobi and Windle International, while expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

The conversation carried particular significance as we look towards 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝟱𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.

𝗗𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻, whose vision and commitment to education helped shape the Windle legacy, was a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Nairobi. It was during his time at the University that The Windle Charitable Trust, now Windle International Kenya, was established, creating a remarkable institutional connection that continues to this day.

Fifty years on, it is inspiring to see how relationships built around 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 can endure across generations—and how a shared history can become the foundation for new partnerships, ideas and possibilities.

Strengthening partnerships for safer, more inclusive digital learning in Nairobi.

Today in Nairobi, we brought together education and child protection stakeholders from Dagoretti, Kibra and Kamukunji for a stakeholder engagement under the Last Mile Connectivity in Schools (LMCS) project.

The engagement brought together representatives from the Ministry of Education, Teachers Service Commission (TSC), State Department for Basic Education and Department of Children Services, including Subcounty Directors, Curriculum Support Officers and Child Protection Officers.

Together, we reflected on how we can harness the opportunities that technology brings to education while ensuring that children are protected from online risks and supported to navigate the digital world safely.

Meaningful collaboration with government and education stakeholders is key to creating learning environments where connectivity, digital skills and child online safety go hand in hand.

Across , young women are coming together to learn, connect and support one another as they navigate opportunities for work and entrepreneurship.

Through the Initiative for Marketable Practices in Agri-Business, Circular Economy and Technology (IMPACT) project, social support network sessions have brought together young women in internship, apprenticeship and on-the-job training across , , , and .

The sessions provided a space for participants to share experiences, identify common challenges, build peer support networks and connect with women entrepreneurs who can offer inspiration, guidance and practical pathways into enterprise and employment.

From group discussions and peer learning to sharing ideas and presenting solutions, the energy across the sessions has been clear: young women want to learn, connect and create opportunities for themselves and others.

These engagements are helping strengthen networks that can continue beyond the training room , connecting young women with peers, mentors and women entrepreneurs as they build their skills, confidence and livelihoods.

A month ago, we celebrated a milestone: 680 young women and men in Puntland graduating with practical skills in renewable energy through the Project. 🎓🌱

A month on, the celebration may be behind us, but the real journey is only beginning. These young people now carry skills that can open doors to green jobs, strengthen livelihoods and contribute to a more resilient and sustainable Somalia.

🏆 Hagadera Secondary School takes the win!

Congratulations to Nasteh Adow & Idris Hussein, winners in the Chemical, Physical & Mathematical Sciences category at .

Access to safe drinking water remains a major challenge in Hagadera Refugee Camp,where many households rely on untreated water from boreholes and water pans,exposing them to diseases such as cholera ,typhoid and diarrhoea.

The students developed a solar-powered water pasteurization system that uses solar energy to heat water to approimately 65 degrees ,destroying disease causing microorganizzms and making the water safe for drinking.

Their innovation demonstrates how can turn challenges in refugee communities into practical, sustainable solutions.

From and to Kenya's National Stage: Refugee Learners Are Shaping Kenya's AI Future Through STEM.

The 2026 Young Scientists Kenya (YSK) National Science & Technology Exhibition is officially underway under the theme "Shaping Kenya's AI Future Using STEM."

This year, 24 refugee learners from 12 Windle International Kenya-supported schools in Kakuma and Dadaab are taking their place on Kenya's national STEM stage, presenting innovative, research-driven solutions to real-world challenges

Sustainable solutions for refugees are built through strong partnerships.

We were proud to join UNHCR Kenya and fellow stakeholders in commemorating 75 years of the 1951 Refugee Convention and reaffirming our shared commitment to protecting refugees while expanding access to quality education, skills development, and opportunities for self-reliance.

Our Regional Director Phyllis Mureu, held a strategic engagement with Hon. Yusuf Ahmed Mohamud, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation; Hon. Mohamed Hassan Ibrahim, Deputy Minister; and Hon. Mohamed Jama, State Minister, of the State of .

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss Windle International Somalia's strategic priorities, Puntland's development agenda, and avenues for deepening collaboration to advance inclusive and sustainable development across the state. During the engagement, the Ministry presented the Puntland Development Plan 2026–2030, outlining the Government's vision and strategic priorities for the years ahead.

The Ministry acknowledged Windle International's continued contribution to Somalia's development and commended the dedication of its teams working alongside communities across Puntland.
