Anybody who knows Strathmore Law School knows we are a mooting powerhouse.

Over the years, SLS has made it's mark globally in achieving excellence in the various moot competitions such as the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition and William Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court among many others.

Most notably, we were the first African team to ever win the John Jackson Moot, beating out Harvard and other Ivy League Universities.

Our students have made us proud!

Strathmore Law School is the winner of the International Humanitarian Law Moot Competition organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross - ICRC! The last time SLS had this award was 5 years ago when the late Cindy Wakio and her team brought the victory home.

Kanyua Waweru (third year), Melissa Ikawa (second year) and Waweru (first year) displayed strength in their knowledge of the law and in presenting their arguments.

Melissa Ikawa emerged the best overall speaker.

The team will represent Kenya in The All Africa Moot 2022.

While we were in Europe, we caught up with Ryan Mwaniki who is on exchange at University of Groningen , in the Netherlands for a semester.

He discusses the diverse effects of the lack of sunshine, being an African student in Europe and the differences between study at Strathmore and Groningen.

Strathmore Law School provides its students international exposure to succeed in a world where exposure and the ability to blend with people of diverse backgrounds.

We are glad to announce that the Strathmore Dispute Resolution is holding a Mediation Training from the 20th-24th of June, 2022.

The training is designed for business people, accountants, teachers, lawyers, leaders and professionals interested in: obtaining certification as a mediator, improving dispute resolution within their organizations and practicing mediation in Kenya and in any
part of the world.

It's a new week and this feels like a good time to say that law school is fun!
