Sometime back I posted on the issues raised by the school management on the security wall perimeter and rehabilitation of the borehole in our beloved school. I am to inform that the area MP and an alumni of the school Hon. George Aladwa has already commissioned the construction of the wall and rehabilitation of the borehole.

Hello. Was at the school and had a long chat with the head teacher. I suggested the idea of having a price giving day for the top students and most improved students at the end of the term subject to your approval and participation. All we need is to decide what to buy then we contribute and grace the occasion. As many as who support the idea say I. Nicholas 'Chasoh' Kyalo here. OranjoKaranja, Rozina Mwakina, Patrick Lumumba and All of you alumni step forward we make a point.

Joseph Apudo primary alumni, today I took my time and visited the school as I had promised a few guys. I think it's a high time we stepped up and did something. There are a few pertinent issues that are of urgency. Some we can assist.
First, the school is operating under capacity. Currently they are running a single stream as compared to the 3 streams we used to have. The classes are congested and they are receiving more students each term. Two thirds of the blocks are dormant. The major challenge are the desks. The teachers are less, just seven for the whole school. They have employed three teachers. The senior teacher says that they can get more teachers from the government if they increase the capacity.
Secondly, the school needs a perimeter wall, which am told the area Mp. Hon George Aladwa promised will be erected beginning of July but is to kickoff. Hopefully will start soon. What I didn't understand is how the schools in makongeni missed this facility during the last parliamentary period when all the other schools in mbotela, bahati, jericho and maringo benefited.
Thirdly, the school has a non operational borehole which could be of great financial benefit to the school through selling of water to the residents. What is missing is just the pump. The senior teacher says this if operational can be able raise enough funds to pay additional teachers and purchase desks for the other streams thus decongest classes.
Last but not least, I promised to come back soon with some of you if not all, at least to motivate the students by rewarding the top students. Hope this will come to pass

J**S Joseph Apudo Primary School Alumni, Makongeni, Nairobi. members, the time has come for us to react and take charge of our former school in matters education. A lot has been said outside this forum, that was in Makongeni Facebook community page where the schools performance was discussed extensively but not exclusively. There is something we can do as former students. Lets take it here.

I am made to understand former veteran Joseph Apudo primary school Teacher, Mrs. Oloo has passed on. If it is so, may her soul rest in Eternal Peace, and the Almighty give strength to her family, friends and colleagues during these trying moments.
