Has your child or learner ever wondered what makes them slide down on a slide?🛝🤔

It looks like simple fun, but there’s some interesting science at work! ⚙️

Our STEM Club learners built a slide model to explore how gravity pulls them downward, while friction between the slide and their clothes affects how easily they move.🧠

Through hands-on building, they discover how forces we experience every day can be demonstrated through simple designs. 🔧✨

🎯 Ask your learner what material they would choose for the slide to create the right amount of friction for a smooth ride. 🧠🛝

🛰️📡 Ever wondered how a post created thousands of kilometres away reaches your phone? 🌍

Information travels between devices and networks through different technologies in milliseconds through light pulses in fibre-optic cables or through radio waves used by mobile networks and satellites. 🛰️⚡️

💡 This is a satellite model built by our STEM Club learners as they explore how satellites work and how they help us communicate across long distances.

📡 That dish you see pointed toward the sky is not just decoration! 😅 It communicates with satellites orbiting Earth. A satellite receives signals carrying information from Earth and sends it back down to a different location, sometimes thousands of kilometres away.

 But communication is not all satellites do! They also support GPS and navigation, weather forecasting, Earth observation, television broadcasting and scientific research. 🌦️🔭

🧠 Challenge: If your learner were to design a satellite, what job would they want it to do? Ask them!😉🛰️

🤖 Has your child or learner ever wondered how robots are built?🤔

They have probably seen robots carrying loads in factories and serving food in restaurants. But do they know the engineering behind how these robots work?

💡⚙️In our STEM Club, learners go beyond watching robots in action. By building their own mini robot powered by a small motor, they discover how electrical energy is converted into movement and explore the building blocks of robotics and engineering.

💡 Have you ever wondered why some street lights face in opposite directions?🤔

It's an engineering decision. Opposing light perfectly cancels out the shadows created by each individual light, reducing dark spots, improving visibility, and increasing safety.🧠⚡️💡

This is a working street light built by learners in our STEM Club using simple materials. Learners discovered why engineers position street lights in opposite directions and how one power source can illuminate multiple lights at the same time, creating an efficient lighting system that maximizes coverage while minimizing energy use.

🎯 Engineering Challenge: Help your child or learner design a dual-head street light that delivers the widest possible light coverage using a single power source.

Not at our STEM Club! 💡 Creativity and innovation turn simple materials into amazing scientific tools.

This adjustable microscope is built using cardboard and lamination paper. The project introduces learners to magnification and careful observation while encouraging creativity and innovation through hands-on engineering.
