Introducing Faith Odhiambo as Chief Guest for the Women Achievers Africa pre-conference breakfast at Panari Hotel

Who is Faith Odhiambo?

1. Trailblazer status in law & leadership
She was the 51st LSK President and only the 2nd woman ever to lead the 100+ year old Law Society of Kenya. That alone makes her a symbol of breaking glass ceilings - exactly what a "Women Achievers" audience looks for. She took office in 2024 after serving as Vice President.

2. National influence & public trust
During the 2024 Gen Z protests, she became a household name. She led lawyers to courts and police stations to secure release of abducted protesters. The Commonwealth Lawyers Association called her “a beacon of hope and inspiration for many”. That kind of public goodwill draws all mothers and Achievers.

3. Credibility on rule of law & governance
She’s not afraid to take bold, principled stands:
- Turned down debt audit task force in 2024, saying it belonged to the Auditor-General.
- Joined then resigned from the Victims Compensation Panel in 2025 when it stalled, citing her oath to LSK

That mix of courage + accountability resonates with women leaders navigating public/private sector politics.

4. Professional depth beyond activism
She’s not just a public figure:
- Partner at Ombok & Owuor Advocates and consulting partner at MMA Advocates
- Lecturer at University of Nairobi, School of Law
- Board Secretary, FIDA-Kenya
- PhD candidate in competition, consumer protection, and banking law

She speaks a language a career woman, entrepreneurs, academics, and policy makers in the room would understand.

5. Awards that signal continental relevance
- Jurist of the Year 2024 - ICJ Kenya
- Commonwealth Law Conference Rule of Law Award 2025
- Top 40 under 40 - Business Daily 2024

You can't miss this year's conference by all means!

6. Relatable messaging for a breakfast audience.
In her exit interview she said she wants “to be remembered as a leader who inspired real change… and was always available”. She also flagged that it may take “4-6 years before another woman takes the helm” at LSK. That’s a powerful call-to-action for women achivers: the pipeline matters.

Bottom line for This Year's Conference: Faith brings name recognition, media pull, substance, and a story of principled leadership under fire. She’ll set the tone for a breakfast about women taking up space in high-stakes arenas and this is a taste of the main conference.
Faith is thrilled to officially invite us all to the Women Achievers Conference & Awards 2026 in Kenya 🇰🇪.

Introducing Hon. Margaret Nabwala Toili
Who's Hon Margaret?

Hon. Margaret is a Kenyan public servant and gender advocate born on 23rd November 1956 in Bungoma County (formerly Bungoma District). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and a Diploma in Public Administration from Kampala International University (KIU), as well as certificates in secretarial studies from her training institutions including Chwele Girls High School and Kinyanjui Technical Training College (KTTI). She is widely known as the “National Gender Champion” and “Mama wa watu wote” (“Mother to all”), reflecting her community-rooted service, mentorship of youth and students on leadership, and her advocacy for women, young people, and persons with disabilities. Her leadership also includes directing gender and teaching Gender, as well as involvement in community development initiatives such as table banking, tree planting, growing seedlings for sale, and agribusiness.
In governance and justice, Hon. Margaret Toili has pursued constitutional change through both litigation and politics. She has vied four times for elective positions—seeking National Assembly seats in 2013 and 2017 and contesting as County Women Representative in 2022—driven by the belief that politics is the platform to translate public needs into legislation. She also sued the State in Margaret Nabwala Toili v State Law at the ruling stage, challenging the unconstitutional formation and operation connected to the dissolution of the 13th Parliament and 13th Senate, following guidance by former Chief Justice Emeritus David Maraga that the 12th Parliament and Senate be dissolved due to failure to implement the constitutional two thirds gender rule. Beyond formal politics, she has led sustained sensitization campaigns against femicide, calling for political will and rule-of-law compliance, and she actively champions disability rights through organizing, including founding KEDIPA in 2013 as a caucus for parliamentarians with disabilities.
Margaret is thrilled to officially invite us all to the Women Achievers Conference & Awards 2026 in Kenya 🇰🇪.

Sarah Wairimu, the widow of murdered Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, was arrested on Thursday at her home in Nairobi.

She is facing new murder charges that have been approved by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) related to Cohen’s death in 2019. This arrest follows the emergence of new evidence connecting Wairimu to the crime. Previous charges against her were dropped in 2022 due to a lack of evidence, which led to an inquest.

Cohen’s body was discovered in a water tank at his Kitisuru residence in 2019. Wairimu has always denied any involvement.
