The Hospitality, Tourism and International Relations Department at Zetech University offers academic pathways designed to prepare students for careers across these dynamic fields. The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management combines hospitality and tourism, with training in service production, mixology, tourism attractions and facilities, and sustainable tourism.

Africa’s global identity has evolved through a wide range of narratives shaped by both African and international voices. As African creators increasingly take ownership of film, media, culture and technology, a new question emerges: who gets to define Africa’s story? 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 is therefore not simply about changing perceptions, but strengthening narrative ownership and presenting a more authentic, diverse and self-defined identity to the world.

This year’s Africa University PR Challenge explored this question among Kenyan universities through a competitive platform that demonstrated how emerging PR practitioners can use research, creativity and strategic communication to shape narratives, challenge perceptions and redefine how Africa is presented to the world.

With 11 universities competing, Zetech University emerged as the overall winner, taking home the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 award for their project dubbed ‘𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮’ that explored how strategic communication can spotlight Kenya’s vibrant film scene, homegrown talent, compelling stories, creative spaces and the audiences eager to celebrate them.
