Kenya is set to take the global stage for ocean action 🌊🇰🇪
From 16–18 June 2026, Mombasa will host the Our Ocean Conference 2026. This is the first time this global gathering is being held on African soil.
Under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Heritage, Our Future,” the conference will bring together governments, innovators, communities, and businesses to move from conversation to real action. From protecting marine ecosystems to strengthening the blue economy, this is a moment to turn commitment into impact and a major milestone for Kenya, Africa, and the future of our shared oceans 🌍

Sometimes, a few simple ingredients are all you need to help protect your plants. Neem oil, garlic, and chilli sprays can be useful tools for managing common garden pests, especially when combined with regular observation and healthy gardening practices.
Remember, the goal isn’t to eliminate every insect in your garden. It’s to create a healthy, balanced growing environment where your plants can thrive 🌿✨

The ocean not only serves as our planet’s lungs, but also as its largest carbon sink.
🌊 Did you know, the ocean generates 50% of the oxygen we breathe and absorbs 30% of the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?
And that’s not all! It captures about 90% of the excess heat generated from emissions. However, increasing greenhouse gas emissions have made the ocean warmer and more acidic. This diminishes its capabilities and threatens its ecosystem.
The ocean is the perfect example of our Earth’s ability to create balance and tremendous beauty. 💙 Join us this World Ocean Day in appreciating it.

Nature isn’t separate from us; it’s what keeps us alive. Every choice we make has a direct impact on the world around us. Caring for nature isn’t optional. It’s how we care for ourselves.

Not every insect in your garden is a pest.
Some help pollinate plants. Some control harmful insects. And some become a problem only when the garden is stressed or out of balance.
In this edition of Gardening Corner, we look at how to identify common pests, recognise early signs of damage, and manage problems before they spread.
Healthy gardens start with observation.

Once a species is gone, it doesn’t come back. Today is a reminder that the natural world is more fragile than it seems 🐘🌿
On this Endangered Species Day, we reflect on the species we’re at risk of losing and the role we can play in protecting them.
How we consume and care for nature, and the creatures around us, is one of the most impactful decisions we can make for the good of our planet.
Take some time today to learn about endangered species. You can even make a donation to your favourite organisations or visit your local zoo. Either way, we hope you make the best out of this International Endangered Species Day!
