The Ol Kalou by-election and the convincing victory of the DCP candidate is yet another reassurance that a cruel and dictatorial regime can be removed through the ballot.
The people of Ol Kalou have demonstrated that when votes are protected, bribery, coercion and intimidation put in check, democracy often prevails.
