📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR STUDENTS

Students can now confirm the amount of tuition fees disbursed to their respective institutions.

To check the amount, follow these steps:

1. Dial *334 #
2. Select Option 6
3. Select Option 46
4. Option 2
5. Log in to your account
6. Select Option 3 – Application Status
7. Select Option 2 – Loan Disbursement

You will then be able to view the amount of tuition fees disbursed to your institution.

This is the current update for continuing third-year students applying for HELB without a national ID. As mentioned earlier, HELB has not yet activated the application system for such students. The system is expected to be activated from 15th August onwards.

HELB SUBSEQUENT APPLICATION WITHOUT ID👇👇

We have noticed that some individuals are misleading students by asking them to send direct messages (DMs), claiming they can help them submit HELB subsequent applications without a National ID, even if the students have already attained the age of 18.

Students should be aware that a HELB subsequent application submitted without a National ID can never be successfully processed before the applicant visits a HELB office for the necessary verification and guidance. Simply submitting the application online without an ID and without visiting a HELB office puts the application at a high risk of being cancelled.

For students who submitted their previous subsequent applications without an ID, you may find that this year's application appears to be successful after submission without visiting a HELB office. However, this does not mean it has been approved. Such applications are likely to be automatically cancelled once they undergo full verification.

As of now, HELB has not activated subsequent applications without a National ID for students who have already turned 18 for this academic year. Whether you visit a Huduma Centre or the HELB Main Office, you will receive the same response.

According to the available information, this issue is expected to be resolved from August.

The upkeep money is not disbursed immediately after you complete your HELB application.

Every HELB application goes through several stages before the funds are released:

• Registered – Your application has been successfully submitted.
• Verification – Your details and supporting documents are being verified.
• Allocation – Your application is assessed and the funding amount is determined.
• Disbursement – This is the final stage, where your upkeep money is released.

To those asking for their upkeep money immediately after I complete their application, please note that the funds are not released instantly. Kindly be patient as your application goes through all the required processing stages.

If you want to move from a university to KMTC or tvet to university through KUCCPS, you cannot use the KUCCPS inter-institutional transfer portal. That transfer portal is intended for transfers between institutions within the same placement framework (such as university-to-university or TVET-to-TVET where applicable), not from an already admitted university programme into a KMTC programme.

Instead, you should:

Wait for KUCCPS to open KMTC applications for the relevant intake.

Log in to the KUCCPS student portal and submit a new application for your preferred KMTC course.

Ensure you meet the minimum KCSE subject requirements for that KMTC students programme.

If you are successfully placed at KMTC, withdraw or defer from _your_ current university according to your university's procedures before joining KMTC.

As requested by many people across different platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, we were able to meet yesterday through Google Classroom for a discussion on:

• Band categorization levels from Band 1 to Band 5.
• Common mistakes that result in students being placed in higher-cost bands.
• How the Means Testing Instrument (MTI) works, what it considers, and what it favors.
• Key factors that students should observe to increase their chances of being placed in a favorable band.

I encourage everyone to keep engaging, asking questions, and seeking clarification. Make the admin as busy as possible with the available channels and time. Together, we will be able to find solutions to the challenges many students are facing.

This New Funding Model (NFM) has become a burden to many students, with a significant number struggling to raise the high household contribution amounts assigned to them. Remember, staying informed and understanding how the system works can greatly improve your chances of securing a fair placement.

Yesterday, we managed to submit 8 cases for individuals who were unable to apply for subsequent funding because they did not have a National ID card.
Their cases will be attended to, and they will be able to apply for subsequent funding in the coming days.
If you do not have a National ID card but wish to apply for subsequent funding, please visit your nearest Huduma Centre office with copies of the following documents:

- Your Birth Certificate
- Your KCSE Result Slip
- The guardian's phone number that was used during your HELB registration

Ensure you carry these documents to facilitate the processing of your application.
