Anyone else afraid of thunder and lightning? I am

AT MY WINDOW

Staring in the darkness
As I lie awake in bed
Trying to get shadows
And visions out of my head

A tree outside my window
Is tap, tapping on the pane
Lightning strikes as rain flows
It makes me feel insane

A fear inside me grows
As I pull my covers over
I can't help but peek
And here's what I discover

The shadow at my window
Has taken a new form
I watched the monster grow
In the midst of a storm

I know it's my minds creation
But still, I am afraid
I yell at my window, shaken
Screaming "for F*** sake go away"!

Out of my bed, I zoom
And flick the light switch on
Bang, crash, flash and boom
Thank God, the shadows gone....

BLINDED

I was too busy filling the need I had;
It dragged my fears along this path.
So lost was I to see the truth;
So closed to me and blinded by you.

So many times you showed your truth
Of righteous facts that stuck like glue,
But still, I had such faith in you;
My light, it blinded me to you.

So caught up in my need for growth,
I saw each hurt; each bitter poke,
As signs to guide me to your truth.
My hope, alas, was blinded too.

The way you spoke of other's ways;
The way you grumbled through your days;
Chasing wants in many ways;
Blinded was I, all our days.

But as I sat there in accepting,
The universe came interjecting;
Transfered the thought behind the truth;
In truth, you made me lie to you.

With expectations set so high,
And demands of all, and me, so tight;
Paraded here to build a world,
Where you could validate your worth.

I had to lie to keep my truth;
For peace is how I stemmed my blue;
But in this truth, I too was blind.
The words you said were so unkind.

So now you've gone to find your life;
Another lover, maybe wife;
Another soul to "yes" to you;
A dreamer to imagine you.

For only us can take the strain,
And use our mind to forget pain.
Only us would hold you close;
Imagination is our host.

Yet this you knew and why you came,
You saw this light; this needing flame;
A dreamer that will play your game;
So loving that she does not blame.

So blinded by you...or were you blinded my me?
The more I grow the more I see,
How you made my fantasy
Become in mind, not reality.

You made me find my way to dream,
And create an inner guiding peace.
Forced to forge a future grace
To keep my sacred peaceful place.

Blinded you were to my need for you,
To guide me to my inner truth.
You left because the job was done;
The blindfold off; the battle won.

But once I found the light within
No longer did I need your skin.
Blinded of the game you played,
I see each move as all pre laid.

The pokers of the ones with truth,
Are here to find the light in you.
You were never blinded, as you hold truth;
The mission was them to be blinded by you.
