The most common greetings used between two persons is:
Jambo!- Hello Reply: Jambo!
Just like other languages, it is more polite and usual to give some sort of title such as:
Jambo bwana-hello sir or mr
Jambo mama- hello mother or mrs
Jambo mtoto - hello child.
Either it may be followed by a proper name e.g. Jambo bwana kalamu.
The usual titles used in Swahili include:
Bwana - for male
Mama for a female
Mtoto for a child
They can be followed by a proper name e.g Bwana Musa
Today let us look at Kiswahili Language Vowels. It is important to note that Kiswahili has 5 vowels namely:
